Default Need help identifying this engine.

Found what may be a unicorn for a steal of a price. 120 bucks, just brought it home. Here are the identifying stamps.. Block, obvious D15B. Head, I can't find any clear info..
block Block stamp
Head stamp
Rocker stamp. Why different than the head?!
Dizzy hole.
Spark plugs located on front, rather than rear, like the B7.

The absolute BEST I can figure is this is a non VTEC SOHC ZC. Can anyone here offer anything further?
any additional pics needed, I can get em. I'm about to start pulling the head so I can ID the pistons.
help!!

Ok NOW I'm fixing to throw a curveball. I can not locate a VTEC solenoid on this engine but the control orifice is located in this head..
see below..
Oil control jet in head between #2 and #3 cylinder.
No oil control jet in block between #2 and #3 cylinder.
Now I'm confused. Weird head stamp, pistons from VTEC ZC, no VTEC solenoid, oil jet position indicates VTEC. OY Vey!!

You can tell it's non-VTEC by the single rocker arms. Also there would be a place and ports on the back of the head to mount the VTEC solenoid.

I think the oil restrictor in the block was for the D15B7 or D15B8, which is a really different head since the spark plug tubes are on the intake side.

I've been searching like a madman for a couple hours now and have discovered a few things. I believe this is an OBD2 Y7 head. The spark plugs on those were mounted on the exhaust side and they also had the oil jet in the head. There is no vtec solenoid anywhere on it, nor is there a place it would be. The head stamp is wonky though..

Through all this searching, I also discovered that I have an A6 head on my B7 block that I have been running for 2 years now, and never realized it. Hooray for searching! Now.. My intention is going to be adding the A6 head to a built ZC block.. My proposed build just got MUCH more intriguing.

Well.. After almost 12 hours worth of searching. I have come to 2 conclusions. Either I hit a jackpot, or I stubbed my ******* toe.. These pistons are almost impossible to find, yes, I can find part numbers, but no other real information. Best I got is they were used in the VTEC ZC. This is a good sign as far as which block I have but it comes down to the only way to tell is by measuring the rods, which I should be able to do today. Matter of fact, about to tear the block down to do just that. I believe the USDM version uses the standard 134mm rods, but this isn't the standard USDM engine stamp as it is D15B rather than D15Bx.
Time to measure my PTD clearance at TDC and then measure muh rods. Back (hopefully soon) with some info.

So tearing down a bit more , found out it uses green bearings, or at least that's what is installed now, they actually aren't in critical shape. Looks to be average wear, unless this thing has less than 100k miles on it.. TDC piston 1 revealed a PTD height just a bit over .020. May be slightly more, honestly. I need a better way to measure that than I did. I just used a tape.. **shrug** Rod rough measurement came out to be just under 5.5 inches. This says 137mm rods. Woohoo! If I could find some more tech info on the p2c piston, that will give me an idea of piston dome/dish specs I need to search for the build. Now a few pics.
Journal bearing showing the most wear. Looks normal to me..
Piston/rod #1. This was the telltale piece.

Don't rule out the possibility that someone who had the engine before you modded it and mix matched some items.

About the only thing that was modified was the head. That came from a Y7, just not sure if Canadian or euro. Can't find much info about the head stamp. It has the same intake mani as the B7, I dunno what the Y7 looks like, but I'm sure this isn't the intake from one lol! But, I would bet a year salary the internals of the block are original. I've got my build list laid out now and start ordering parts tomorrow or Tuesday.
rods from maxpeeding rods, king bearings, arp head and rod bolts, Nippon pg6 pistins, NPR rings, omni 2.5bar map sensor, rebuilt 440cc injectors, cx racing turbo kit .60 turbine .63 exhaust, speed daddy motor mounts, cometic mls .025 head gasket.

Building the block then swapping my current A6 head over. Currently equipped with skunk2 pro series intake mani, skunk2 70mm tb, 3" exhaust, XTD stage 3 clutch, 8lb flywheel, and Neptune RTP.

I'm anticipating 200hp with street tuning at 10 psi on this build.
