Default Replacing LMAs B16a

JDM B16a

Do the rockers have to come out to replace the LMAs.

Also are these the correct spring type LMAs for a B16a

Last question, where is the best price on OEM spring type LMAs ?

Thanks

I do not know how to access the LMA without the rocker assembly being removed from the head.

Looking at skunk2's website, the B-series LMA springs are the same for both B18 (GSR, Type R) and B16 (99-00 Si [CDM SiR]):

Thanks for the info.

I have the cams out, I replaced the valve stem seals, and it looked like you might be able to get the LMAs out, but it also looked liked they might hit the rockers.

Thanks again. also I was going to try to stay OEM on the LMAs, but I see they have the same ones listed for all.

Unfortunately, the rockers need to be removed.

How are the cams out without removing the rocker assembly?

Maybe I am not using the right term, Rocker Arms ? the things that ride the valves...the cams are out. you can swing the rocker arms out of the way and access the springs to replace the valve seals

FSM shows pulling the rocker arms out then goes onto explain rocker arm assembly. After rocker arm is assembled and tested, it says to remove the LMA. What isn't clear is if this is assebled on the rocker arm shafts or outside of the head.

I now see the B16 setup is significantly different than the SOHC vtec setups.

Personally I think it's better to have everything out when doing the LMA's but that is me. Also FSM does say rubber band the arm assembly together in sets, that to me sounds like it's removed from the head before moving onto the LMA's
