If you aren't rubbing on the wheel well, just trim the splash guard where you are.
Is it rubbing on full lock? Or just when turning and the suspension is compressed?

Thanks for the quick reply caoboy! They rub when turning at a sharp angle, the suspension doesn't need to be compressed much but that would surely make it worse. In the last picture its rubbing on that screw that is "shiny".... the real trouble will come when i try to run chains on all wheels, well the back should be fine. anyone on here have trouble with snow chains after bigger tires?

I have the same size tires on my 05 CRV and no rubbing here but i don't have a lift on the front of mine, i'm using stock springs on the front only. I do use chains sometime in the winter for backcountry skiing in remote areas but with stock size winter tires. I really doubt you'll be able to use chains without any rubbing specially if you're using stock wheels (high offset)
You were right the first time, those are 16" wheels. I don't think Honda ever really expected - let alone intended - anyone to put bigger tires on these cars.
That's a lot of rubber for the little k24! Different setup than you posted a little bit back? Those pics were on stock 16" rims right?
Just got an OME kit for the 99. Got all new KYB Excel-G struts and new strut bushings and boots too. I'll post pics when they get here and I install them.
So I'm currently on 215/70 15 Yokohama Geolandar's and stock 15" alloys (I believe 15x7 +55mm offset.)
I'm looking at some Basset Racing D-Holes in 15x8 with a 0 offset (closest to a positive offset they offer :/ ). How bad would the poke be with a 225/70 15 tire on there? Like how many inches past fender.
I checked on willtheyfit and got this info with those sizes
Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 42.3mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 67.7mm more than before.
So the wheel will sit 2.66 inches further out, but how much poke past fender does that equate to. Anybody running this size? Do they rub at full lock with the 1.75" lift?

Looks like i will be removing some plastic fro the fender, maybe i will try a heat gun first and just pushing it in a bit.
I am thinking the chains will just run on the rear for now...random thought, but i heard a weird way of tricking the rear differential into running all the time would be putting smaller tires on the front. But this would likely over heat the unit very quickly, cause damage and what not... I guess my question is would chains cause a similar effect by only having them on the rear?
2005 stock wheels are definitely 16", I have the same ones
I see a lot of potential for overheating the rt4wd system by running chains on the back only. Based on the couple of 3-wheel situations I've gotten into, my guess is that the rear wheels could propel the car by themselves, but not very well and the fronts would be outrunning the rears constantly - leading to pretty quick overheating/damage.
Have you considered a serious trim of the plastics up front. This guy did it to fit MTs: https://www.instagram.com/chaddyfooks_/

Finally got my lift in!

Above picture was back in May of 2017 with no lift at all. Bottom picture is my V today with my lift: Tema4x4 30mm spacers all around, KYB shocks all around, OME springs in the rear
My CR-V is 2006 EX-AWD
Just picked up a 2000 Honda CRV, 5 speed manual that need some TLC.
Would like to put together something basic but different looking for hauling the dogs around.
I like a bunch of the set-up's I've seen on this thread and figure you guys know best!
What's the best lift kit on the market & what a good wheel / tire combo for an aggressive off road look?

Awesome! Can you give me the short list on your lift and wheel/tires? ...I have an '05 that I have had for 3 years, and I know the complete history on (was a 1-owner), but I really keep wanting another Element...Or I want to lift the CRV....????
