EM1 obd1 and inspecton
Would they not check the VIN/Registration?
Honestly if it were me I would try to figure out how much trouble I'd get in to just make a fake registration/inspection sticker, and consider that as a possibility... But in Cali the consequences would likely be severe.
Hell, I've driven cars here in Texas for months at a time without registration/inspection stickers (because I'm a dingus and forget to stick them on) and never been pulled over for it or had anyone notice.
The year I spent in Kansas, I had a rusted out Fox for drift purposes and they don't even do inspections at ALL there lol.

It takes only a few seconds to do .... take a guess why they do this.
hint: you will get a free ride from the test station.
Seriously asking, what massive evils are they trying to prevent with this? Just emissions bullshit?
Legally, don't do ANY of this, don't modify your car with off-road only use aftermarket products (everything and anything without a CARB sticker), and follow the guidelines set forth by your state...

Impounding cars and crushing them comes to mind... but you'd be surprised.........
If you think there aren't ways around this kind of thing you don't know enough people or can't think outside of the box...

^Lol. I do really wonder how things like this are going to continue to change in the next 20 years or so as both self driving and electric cars start to become more of the normal population. I'm a bit worried about the future state of ICE car enthusiasts, at some point I think we'll all be limited to track use only, just wondering how long it will take for things to get there.
))))
I've been bitching about VT changing the law last year with having to scan obd2, take pictures of vin # and putting on a new inspection sticker with a barcode. And if you fail they take pictures and that way you can't go anywhere else to try and inspect it. but after reading it seems only a matter of time before every state is doing this. I feel its way overboard. Isn't it supposed to be a "safety inspection" not and inspection to make sure every single thing on your car works like new. I live in a salt ridden state, every car here is a POS unless its brand new. ok ill stop ranting now
