Will try again to get a photo today, car was on jacks and the sun was making it hard to get a good shot of them. I'm definitely willing to ship them to you but it'd be expensive on the price :/

Swapped the suspensions on the car, both are back on the ground now. The Si feels and looks much better with the new rear, only a sway bar is needed now. Still need to figure out why/how I'm making contact on my rear tires under cornering, ride height seems reasonable but tires are still rubbing. 225/45/15 15x8 +20 may be just a bit too big for this chassis, I need more offset and/or a smaller tire. I'll keep tweaking it and get it somewhere I can work with for now.

Fixed a washer jet to fit the CF hood properly. Stuck a bore scope down the B16, oil is all over the spark plug wells and cylinder domes. Not a problem since I'll be overboring and rebuilding. Also not sure if you can tell in the pics, but I did a quick wash on my car and both tail lights managed to fill up nicely with water, so I'll need to address that.

Hoping to pull the B16 today/tomorrow.

I really, really wish I had gotten some pictures of this car when I FIRST bought it, with the original banged up panels. Still need to close the gap on the front of the hood/bumper at some point, just adjust the latch.

Complete side note, and I know some people will hate me for this, but I'm pretty strongly considering adding a Benen gold front/rear tow hook set. I just want something more to show on the exterior to break up all the black.

I say go for the tow hooks. I'm a fan of black on black but I agree that it would break up the black and match the accents on your wheels too. If you like it, do it

Pulled the B16 from Jerry (parts car). Wiring harness wasn't in the best condition, it's very easy to see why this engine was running so half assed on the "tune".

I don't think I'll be pulling the head until I have money for the rebuild, although I'm curious what to find inside. Making room for Tom (Si) in the garage so I can next pull the D16 and list it for sale. Also need to make a trip to the junkyard at some point to pull some P72 oil pan parts for a girdle installation, and I'll also need top hats for the rear struts on Jerry (I'm going to remove the F&F Type 1 coilovers and sell them separately, so I'm putting it back on stock suspension to keep it a rolling shell).

Also, shout out to the linkage bitch pin for making me ruin a screwdriver and taking almost as much time to remove as the rest of the engine in it's entirety lol. Nothing some enthusiastic hammering can't solve.

How is the front end on the parts car? I need to replace hood, fenders, and my bumper skin has a tear.

Any of those good on the parts car?

The front rad support on this car is totally tanked, but the fenders, hood, bumper, and headlights are all good. Has an SiR chin lip on the front bumper too.

Unless you're in Texas though I'm pretty sure the shipping would ruin the purchase. I can take some more photos though if you'd like.

How high the car sits with the front back on stock suspension, and no engine/trans in the bay (rear is still on coils, need to find cheap top hats to switch back to OEM):

Also, I was frantically trying to refresh some data on this the night I bought the parts car but wasn't able to figure out for sure. I now know that whatever trans I have isn't a B16, it's either a GSR, LS, or (unlikely) an ITR. I'm going to be listing some things for sale this upcoming week and may end up going with a different engine depending on what sells... Just more time to spend.

the trans in the picture is almost certainly stolen. note the vin tag rivets/fragments of tag still on it? why would anyone need to destroy a vin plate? not saying you had anything to do with it, obviously, but use caution selling it.

Yeah I noticed that too when I bought it. San Antonio here is notorious for having some of the worst of the Honda community, cars and parts get stolen all the time there. Not sure when it happened, or if it was even the guy I bought the car from, but that trans definitely has some sort of a questionable past.

My other thought is they may have knocked off the VIN so they can say "yeah it's an S80 ITR/GSR trans" when it's really an LS. When I was driving it though the gear ratios didn't feel too long though, so I think it may actually be a GSR....

So I don't really know. Either way the B16 longblock and trans are listed for sale right now. I'd like to get the D16 pulled and listed too but I think it would be a good idea to wait just on the off chance I need the Si as an emergency car. I'll wait until I already have something in the process of being built to pull the D.

open the case, GSR will have tapered bearings on the diff, LS will have roller. or count the teeth on the differential (66) and then the teeth on the countershaft gear that connects with the diff. (15) divide and get a 4.4 ratio for gsr, 4.266 for ls

Well, they just fired my director and two other high level managers from my department. I've worked here so far for only 6 months, and I've had 3 different managers since starting. My direct manager's position is currently (still is) open, and now my boss's boss position just got eliminated.

So I'll definitely be looking for some job opportunities over the holidays... Ugh. Need funds for Civic blood money and not sure how much longer this position is going to pay out. ****'s crazy.

Don't think I want my head on that spotlight lol. I've already had a lot more responsibilities put on my plate these last few months as we've had to have holes filled, but I don't think I'm going to have any title change/raise/bonus any time soon. It's been good experience and I don't think my job is in any immediate jeopardy, so I'm just going to take my time and start looking at other options.

I'll move up the ranks, just not while I'm still here.

Plans for the weekend:
Remove dashboard from donor car (will eventually be swapped with the Si, going to do a brake line tuck first)
Trip to junkyard (need OEM rear top hats, may also try getting some P72 oil pan parts)
Remove exhaust from Si (rusted and disgusting, muffler straight up fell off)
Install the fog lights I've had sitting around for a year
Grit my teeth and cut holes in my CF hood so I can install aerocatch latches
Install the X Brace I've had for a couple months

Should be enough to keep me busy for a couple days. I may also pull the trans off the B16 and open the case to figure out exactly what S80 it is, but it depends on if I get any offers to buy it before then.

Photos on first page should be fixed. It's hilarious to me how shitty the car still looked even after I had replaced both bumpers, lips, fenders, and head/tail lights.

It's definitely come a long way, just a long ways still to go Did the math today and I'm planning on dropping $800 into Downstar dress up hardware for the engine bay and rear suspension... Worth it

Edit: Also if a mod wouldn't mind changing the title to "93 Si Hatch Daily Build" I'd appreciate it. I've long given up my futile dreams of 86x89mm

my civic still shitty too even though I've done quite a few things to it.

maintenance on the engine
bushings
alignment
new tires
interior's about to get remodeled

BUT MY EXTERIOR STILL LOOKS LIKE ****
em1 front bumper with lip
mesh grille
oem fog light kit w/ LED (not that bright, bout to find some way to stick some HID projectors down there)
retrofit fx projectors w/clear lens. regular d2s kit
HX rims stripped finished to aluminum finish w/ painted inserts.

It definitely takes a lot of time and patience, and I know personally it can feel frustrating because at times I feel like I'm not making actual progress just because I'm spending time focusing on knick knack things.

But there's definitely merit to doing things right the first time, and getting your priorities in order even if that means dealing with the boring fixes first rather than upgrades. IMO that's what really separates a well structured and successful build from your thrown-together dead on the road 3 months later build.

Keep up the good work Sounds like you're making great headway

I love the way this is coming along, especially those meaty tires. You will probably need to roll the fenders to make them work, without rubbing or maybe if you're lucky, just play around with the offset (spacers) and camber.
Only thing I am not liking is the Beaks bar, on top of the ASR subframe brace, with no sway bar. Come on man, that is ricer stuff, you are better than that. Toss that beaks bar on ebay for a few bucks to put towards an ASR swar bar.

Haha chill man! Sway bar is on the way, just haven't put the cash in for it yet.

I'll upload a few pics here later, got a couple things done this weekend but not nearly as much as I was hoping. Just a busy weekend as far as life goes.

Also, the fenders are already rolled but I do need to go back through and clean them up, along with a few other details on the body. It will be going back into a paint booth at some point for touch ups.

Didn't get nearly as much done over the weekend as I wanted. Had some family things come up.

Engine & trans separated. I'm committing to using the B16 now, and will use the trans case as a core for a B16 gearset with 4.785 ITR final drive. Engine build will be fully balanced with block girdle, damper pulley, and ported oil pump. With T1 cams and a good intake setup I'm expecting to make power up to the 9500RPM mark "reliably" (as reliable as any sane and honest person can call 9.5K RPM).

Will separate the head and block ASAP when I'm at the garage next. The drive there is starting to annoy me, POS Kia literally devours almost a full tank of gas round trip, 2.5 hour drive. Shame I don't have a garage in Austin lol.

I'm very curious as to why 2 cylinders were 20+PSI different in compression than the other two. So far I have seen 0 specks/metal of any sort in the oil or VTEC solenoid filter. I'm starting to wonder if it may be a guide or valve seat. Ultimately irrelevant as the entire longblock will be worked over, but still curious.

Custom tools?

Why all the discoloration down the exhaust side of the block?
