I saw Honda is making new parts for old Beat model, who knows, maybe they make new parts for others cars. At least I hope so.
I'm not going to hold my breath. Japanese car manufacturers seem to do a lot in their own markets that they don't offer here. Mazda will now restore original miatas with all OEM parts in Japan.

Sorry for the delay. I miss a lot of messages on HT. Replied.

If I ever get her back I wanna give her the same treatment you're currently giving yours and fix her up good as new, despite my having zero knowledge on how to.. might see me blowing up your message inbox for help. Any chance you'd do a video for the first time you start the engine on this? I feel like it could be pretty epic.
I hope you find her. Hit me up anytime. I will definitely make a video of the first time she's started up.
One of my most recent pick ups.. Brand new dash in the box from Honda, and one of the last few out there. A friend recently decided to part ways with his project, and he gave me first crack at his parts. This piece was too tempting to pass up. My original dash is in great shape, so I'll probably just tuck this one away for a while.
That it is, but it is Built2Grind we're talking about here. Resurrection? Hmmm, I dunno, I'm beginning to suspect B2G's starting small scale production of brand new R's
holy freaking restoration. I don't know what to say, but damn sir you win this one! I've read the entire thread in about an hour and a half and its crazy to think the time, money and dedication you have put into this car. DAMN GOOD JOB!!
I would already have them assembled, but I need to replace a few of the bolts that attach the two. Just like the spindle, these bolts are not available separate from the RTA. They are a unique Torx head bolt that I haven't seen on another part of this car. If anyone is familiar with the bolt or knows how to order it from Honda please share. I'll probably try to find them at Tacoma screw this week if all else fails. Those guys have everything. More coming soon!

I'd also apply some Loctite to those bolts as well... I forget what I torque'd them down to but I believe it was around the ~90-100ft lbs range.
Also regarding the underside -- don't waste your time remove the factory undercoating. If you own or can rent a high pressure pressure washer I'd do that and get the wheel wells and underside as clean as possible. Then I'd use a single stage urethane enamel to paint the wheel wells -- any coating will chip off, but using a single stage urethane will more than likely prevent yellowing from UV rays.
TCPGlobal sells NH-0 in Urethane, and should lay down nicely with over top of some etch primer.

Electrolysis is pretty cool, not sure you are into Cast Iron pan cooking but you can reuse your system to restore some pans for your wife. A couple members have done so here on H-T already.
Curious what route you ended up going with these T50 Torx screws that hold the spindle to the RTA?
EDIT: Nevermind! Found the answer in post #178.
So did you end up going 90 ft/lb with blue loctite for the spindle bolts? And I think maybe 134 ft/lb was the torque spec for the rear spindle nut (big one) also with blue loctite?
Just read this from start to finish... What an inspiration. I applaud you bro!
I just purchased my ITR and am super paranoid with where to keep her. After reading your story im even more super paranoid.
Love the progress. Keep up the great work.

Ha! Thanks for the interest guys. It gives me some much needed motivation. Wish I could blow everyone away with some shots of a finished car... but unfortunately I haven’t made any progress in the last year. My wife and I found out we were pregnant last November so I dropped everything and scrambled to remodel my house before the babies arrived. On July 24 our twins were born! It’s been a pretty wild ride; fatherhood is the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. I’m a lucky guy.
Planning on getting back to work on the car soon guys.. bear with me!

Many congratulations! Enjoy every minute you can, the car will be there when you're ready. Looking forward to updates when it's time!
