Well I am back after having the CRV down for a couple weeks. The motor turned out to have a slight rod knock. I found a used 2006 CRV motor with 111,000 miles on it got that installed. So finally tonight I got my hitch in my side steps on . the hitch I got from the
e-trailer , The sidesteps were from eBay for less than $110 shipped . surprisingly the quality is good fit and finish is good , definitely worth the price. With The exception of some lighting upgrades I think my off-road look is complete!!!

When the shop first mounted up the rims without spacers they ended up bending both front caliper brackets. $300 later I had new calipers and brackets. we then slipped on some spacers and it barely cleared the caliper bracket but the new brackets had a different shape and weren't as bulky. I'm having rubbing issues in the rear only with the upper plastic molding of the fender due to the soft *** struts and springs. I plan to order 30mm spacers from Russia and extended screws for the top hat. Im thinking kyb gr2 and duralast oe replacement springs from autozone. Gonna try and get the rear taken care of before winter and then do the front in the spring.

Could anyone tell me the inner diameter of the top coolant hose on the CR-V?
Gonna install an extra water temp gauge and would need to get the right size sensor adaptor

 

Awesome build. Is that a 5 speed? What kind of fuel economy are you getting with the bigger tires?

First off, I NEED that cargo tray / mat. I'm working as a stonemason... that's exactly what I have been wanting to protect the cargo area from mortar!
Were the foglights worth it? I know the ebay ones are affordable, but do they put out enough light to justify the work of installing them? I want more light, but I want to be able to use it on the street, so I'm not jumping straight to some outrageously bright light bar.
Looks clean for the miles... looking good and I'm happy to see another 05-06 modded. Even within the small pool of modded 2nd gens, 02-04 seems more common to mess around with.

Can you tell us if the tema spacers are any good? Aerogenics usa also makes aluminium ones which seem more legit. So I'm undecided between the two.

 

The OE reps on eBay are ok. They are fog lights so they will fill in the area below the cutoff and to the sides. They helped, but I really wanted to install some hella 500ff fogs lol.

For $30 they are probably the best bang for your buck (oem reps)

Since I tapped the parking light wiring for the relay they are always on, which can be an annoyance to some people, but I like that they light up when I lock and unlock the crv.

 

I have the tema ones and they work great ... the aluminum ones look good and will be an easier install since you don’t have to knock out the studs and replace with longer ones

 

I looked them up and the 500ff's probably put out a lot of light for the money as well. They use 55w H3 bulbs. Is the charging system good enough to support that on top of the headlights?
I like LEDs for less power draw...

 

LEDs would be better, yes, like some 4" pods where the OE cutouts are.

I wanted hellas for the 'look.'

I had an idea of them being mounted on a bumper bar, but they'd be inset into the OE cutouts just a teeny bit. Wiring would be routed through the cutouts for a clean look.

+2 hella driving lights in the middle of the grill area.

The wiring is simple, add an aftermarket Blue Sea fuse box (iirc that's the company) and run the wiring from there.

If one were to do it all with LED lights, the 12v system wouldn't take too much of a hit.

After driving 2400km across Europe to get home with my new CR-V.. I did my first updates

16X7.5" ET35 wheels with standard size tires for the winter season (will go 225/70 for the summer) and OEM JDM door deflectors that I got hold of in Czech Republic on my way home from a Honda breaker that had a JDM version on his yard. I also got the roof spoiler with the 3rd brake light :D
But that needs some drilling in the rear door to get installed..



Picking up the 30mm Tema 4x4 spacers tomorrow, took about 1 week to get them

 

I have a strap there on mine with a clip to secure something, maybe a oil bottle?

 

It should be for the subwoofer attachment! It secures the subwoofer to the wall,

 

Does anyone have one of those flat roof racks, like made with that hardware cloth material?

 

People keep saying that but the woofer offered in these years was a Kelton Bassworks model that went under the driver's seat.

I've seen people use the holes to strap in a fire extinguisher.
