I just use a std gas lens with a #12 cup...

Is that for a 9/20 size torch, or more like a 17? I didn't see any cups that big for the gas lens on my #9 size torch last time I was at the welding store (Friday).

 

I have a 17 torch body. with a large gas lens.

 

I have an 18cup I'll sell you. Will fit a 9 or 17

Just took a long gander through some of the recent pages in this thread. Man it has come a long way!!! Sorry I haven't been around to help out, it just got to be too much once social media came online.(yes, it's been that long ,lol)
I think posting here and comparing/chatting with the others made me a better welder and fabricator for sure.

i have a lincoln viking helmet and im looking to possibly buy a second helmet so my son can watch or have someone give me hand. im looking into the speedglass, is it worth getting? 99% of my welding in my garage is tig. BTW 850FAB pics are amazing!!!

 

if you do, make sure you get the updated lens. I had to warranty my first lens but they took care of me with the quickness.

This new lens technology is really nice compared to standard hoods. Night and day difference

 

Have you tried the esab sentinel? It's all the rage on the 'gram

I'm skeptical of it, but I use a speedglas myself.

 

i think there are a lot of things that are "all the rage" that don't deserve the attention they actually get

 

i've also seen people raving about the esab helmet but it seems to me that the best stainless/aluminum/titanium tig welders seem to use speedglass.
