It depends on what your wideband says. An 8% change will roughly change your afr by 1 point.

So it's idling but there seems to be a tick that I can't find. Sounds like a valve train tick but I adjusted the valves and it's still there. Could be LMAs? I'll try and post a video.

I've never had a rod knock (knock on wood) so I'm not totally certain if this is what they start out sounding like. Any help is appreciated.

that's not rod knock, either the injectors or the valve adjustment that you performed may be a little on the loose side. I've heard a lot of B-series sound like that.

That's good to hear. How can I rule out the injector? Stethoscope?

Remove injectors and have them flow tested at a facility . And no, there's no better way to be sure

No Stethoscope can "see" that.

The street tune went good yesterday so today its gonna get dyno tuned up at English. Car already feels as quick as it did with the last motor so I'm pretty excited to see how it does turned up! We also redid the intake piping to put the filter almost totally out of the engine and 2in to 2.5in cold side pipe. So on e85 should be able to max out this Silver surfer! Also I have other Dyno charts from the same Dyno so it'll be nice to compare.

Good luck! In for results.

Who street tuned it? You gonna bump fuel pressure at all to get more out of your injectors?

It made 535 on 26lbs but the tuner turned it down because of the injectors were maxxed. I left at 491 on 22lbs. He's sending the graph so I'll post it when I get it. Car drives great now I just need to hit the track!

One problem I had on the dyno was the damn oil pressure gauge again. The needle just starts freaking out. Also when I turn the car off the needle doesn't zero out and I've wiggled the wires while running aND it didn'tmade a difference anyone has this problem too?

Depends upon the quality of the oil pressure gauge, and where you have it hooked up. It may be a crappy gauge, or it may be the location where oil pressure isn't steady, (and the gauge is really accurate) or both.

It's hooked up to the sandwich plate and only started acting up on the dyno. It worked great before, now it won't zero out when key off and it's being really erratic . Is there a better gauge than autometer? I picked up a new sending unit but I'm not gonna open it till I can test it. Any ideas on how to test it?

Mac, will I be able to take this turbo to its max on a log manifold?

They are kinda spendy, but I love my AEM oil pressure gauge. Has never given me a problem.

What cams are you running?

The turbo won't know the difference or care what exhaust manifold it's on to run. With the way that Surfer was designed with a larger exhaust wheel in a smaller turbine housing A/R, exhaust turbine back-pressure won't be a problem for its capabilities. I've seen over 650whp made on a tubular log and cast log manifolds. I doubt a Surfer will go that far, but time will tell.

Well damn I didn't know they made one, if it goes again I'll check them out. I'm on ctrs with stock gears.

First thing every tuner points out they don't like is the log manifold. I think it's working good so far haha. With the B20 stroke this thing is a blast to drive!
