Default Urgent need of help popping noise coming from automatic Integra shifter

I have a 2001 Acura Integra GS automatic. I noticed today when shifting from Park to drive I heard a loud clunking noise coming from shifter area. I put car into reverse car makes popping noise when going into reverse. Also will make popping noise when engaging to drive. I changed all front end suspension the noise sounds like it's coming from the shift linkage or shifter area. If I put it in drive and give it gas to take off I hear a popping noise Upon take off. This is not coming from the front end I believe it has something to do with the shifter or shifter linkage. Hopefully someone on here in guide me in the right direction thank you

Could be any of these symptoms any CEL?
Low transmission fluid level.
Failed Motor Mounts or trans mount.
CV Joints.

The more I think about it. Could be your axles and or half shaft.

Well even though its sounds like its coming from the shifter, why don't you do those trying to help you diagnose over the internet a favor.

Check your fluid(s)
Check your mounts (all 5)
Check you axles/cv boots
Check your shifter linkage

Then get back to us.

Shifter linkage? You mean shaft control...
He has a Hydraulic Automatic transmission.

I just somewhat redid the exhaust and put a new donut gasket in between the cat. My engine does move quite a bit when going from reverse to drive. It is hard for me to isolate the sound of the noise. I am thinking the spring kit between the cat could be causing noise. I have been having issues where the shifter is hard to get in and out of park. I'm not sure what to do I am thinking about buying all new mounts. I don't want to be throwing a bunch of money at it.

No I mean the linkage, as in the linkage/cables etc that connect the shifter to the transmission. As in here in this link:

Have you ever worked on an automatic Integra before?

Uh, no. He's not. You just have a hard time reading what has been stated, or what members have advised you should do.

I think this is where the confusion was, just call it the automatic shift cable. When you say shift linkage we're all thinking the 5spd shift linkage.

Yes I have and it's been over 7 years since I dropped an Automatic transmission. When you said shifter linkage. I'm thinking manual transmission.

There is a procedure to check your mounts. By holding down the brakes and rev the motor while in drive and reverse while the hood is open to see if the motor twisted or jump and from there you know witch mounts are bad. You can google it there should be videos floating around on youtube, etc.

Thank you all for help, I will provide update after installation of all new mounts I also have new exhaust system to go on. Thank you all I'm sure it was due to the mounts in the donut gasket flexing. We will find out after replacing all mounts.
