I had to change a cracked windshield on my 1998 Civic EK4 sedan, and fortunately I managed to find an original OEM one.
But unfortunately, after the windshield was replaced, I noticed that the cowl top assy, the plastic one that is supposed to sit on the windshield is now having a considerable gap, of about 5mm or so.
I am starting to believe this could be related to a missing Rubber that is shown in the diagram, which, I believe is supposed to give the windshield some more height, or make it sit a bit more "outside" so when you put the cowl top it would then make contact, is that possible? I have seen it is a really common problem with aftermarkets windshields so I am wondering if the problem is that no one is replacing that part or they are just not putting the new windshield properly?
I am considering buying all the parts on the diagram, specially 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 and ask the workshop to remove the windshield and start all over again supervising the job, since honestly I have no idea how they did it and if those pieces are in place?
Any feedback on this would be welcome
