Does anybody know what would be the compression rate on D16A ZC with a Z6 head? I saw on wikipedia that the stock is 9.2, but what would it be with a z6 head? I had a zc block before and I was pretty sure it was a y7 head. The car was pretty fast, but it wasted a lot of gas. Not sure if its normal for this motor.
Ok, I see now, I read on another forum that Zc SOHC was similar to D16a6. Right now, I have a z6 head with a y8 block with 2 layer headgasket. I was just being curious what my options would be if my block stopped working. I tried your calculator and I got about 10.24. But I believe I would be running rich with that compression rate right? Also I could be wrong D16A is the same thing as ZC SOHC, just different label?
Re: What is compression rate on D16A ZC with Z6 head
The "ZC" engine code represents MANY different versions of engines over multiple Civic/Integra generations beginning in the late '80's... you have not been specific in which one you have. This is like saying you own a "blue car"... too general for specific discussion.

I have noticed that, I was referring to the OBD2 version SOHC ZC that looks like the y7 but with a ZC stamp on it. I just found out D16a6 is obd1.

I am thinking the compression would be about 9.9-10.2 with the Z6 head? I remember this motor was running rich on gas, maybe an msd box could help? This is the motor that I am referring to:
