So it finally happened, blew the clutch out of my crv. Luckily got me all the way to work and ended up losing the clutch pedal and dying as i pulled into a parking spot. Have the parts on order; new flywheel clutch set and ended up ordering new t-stat, timing belt waterpump and a rear mail seal figure id pull the whole thing and take care of them all at once.
Just curious on any issues i should be aware of ahead of time. Ive pulled the d series out of my 96 coupe and put in a built one but that was a few years ago and never ran into any big issues with that one. Also if you guys have any other suggestion on maintenance items that I should look into replacing it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks all

Might want to change the front main seal VC gasket and oil pan gasket if you're going to pull the motor out.

to you guys with first gens running 215/75/15 tires, will the larger tire fit on the spare wheel? or will the cutout in the bumper get in the way?

Hello all! i just bought a 2006 CRV LX auto and I am looking to achieve this look, I read that these tires are 235/75/16 with 16x8 0 offset rims. I'm debating on buying the CMR 2" lift spacers.
I've read though a lot of this and will be reading all of it over the next few weeks. I don't plan to do much off road riding, This is my daily and plan to do some camping with it. Also I'm looking to add the fog lights to mine. Has anyone used the ebay OE replacement fog lights and is the installation easy?

I'm not sure about the crv fog lights but I've installed a few OE reps on civics and they've done just fine. As far as those tires go I'm almost positive you'll have to do a bit of trimming.. I'm running (on my RD1) 235/65r17's with a 2" OME lift and I had to trim a bunch and still rub from time to time. Good luck with it all and welcome to the comfortable runabout lifestyle

Bought it off from a neighbor who's moving out, want to lift the beast with some OME springs, can someone give me the correct part number to the OME springs or direct me to a legit website for the parts.

Thanks!!!

I was also thinking of maybe a DIY solution to use some pipe insulation and zip ties to give disrupt the airflow a bit and see if that helps.
I put the cargo cage on right away so I didn't have a chance to notice any whistle with the bars alone. My cage does have a fairing.

Some recent pics (I'm jealous of the clear coat on your vehicles!):

Something to keep in mind if you guys are running more power - lights, stereos, whatever - I have a DC power and engineering alternator, and it kept stripping bolt holes or busting bolts in the bracket because the larger housing required standoffs which change the torque angles of the belt. Replacing the bracket and hardware worked for about 4K miles at a time, then it was a breakdown/overheat and tow.
This is the current fix:

Have any of you built or ordered brackets for a light bar above the windshield? I'm not 100% opposed to putting rivets or studs in the actual roof, but a bracket that attaches to the door sill seems a lot safer to me. They make vehicle specific mounts, of course, but the CR-V isn't on their list.

my fix for now is this:

I was going to purchase some Thule surfboard cushions, but this diy was $10 vs $50 lol.

Still looking for a decent rack. I want a slim aluminium rack but I can't find one that I like. It's all mostly for looks anyways.

Also, I purchased a trailer for kayaks, dump runs, dirt bike hauling, camping, JDM cool points, etc.

It's not too shabby for $259!

I just need to wire it, get it registered, build some side walls (still debating on AL sidewalls or just go with plain Jane wood) and also need to build in a floor and start figuring out all the attachments for the above statement.

Hello guys,

I have a CR-V 1998 and i want to do some upgrades on him.

My fisrt question: which is the max tire size that i can put with the Old Man Emu Springs and the rest original without rubbing.

The 225/75/r15 fit well with the springs i mentioned?

Hope to see some opinions/ configs that you have

I don't know about biggest tires without rubbing, but I do know for a fact 235/65r17s rub like crazy... Even after trimming front bumper and back of sideskirts lol. Good luck and welcome to the lifestyle

Hey, thanks!

Yeah the 235's are out of equation for me for that reason...
My ideia is to put the new springs to lift a bit and if you guys, say that the 225 fit well i think i go this way.

I would suggest changing all the fluids. Rear diff, transmission, oil.
