The Official Formula 1 2017 Season Thread
Saw a headline on Jalopnik about "unexpected result in F1" or something and instantly closed the browser/avoided social media until I could watch qualifying. Then got a top 4 that was identical to Australia. :
IMSA @ Long Beach was a clusterfuck though. Worst track on the calendar for them without a doubt.

The SC really screwed up the strategy. I still think Merc is fastest but it appears Ferrari is much closer.
I like Max but his crying about GRO was ridiculous. You are coming up to lap a car that is still trying to get into the points (GRO was P11) and you can't even get into DRS range. If you can't get to within 1 sec of a lapped car, shut up.
Honda F1 chief Yusuke Hasegawa now says: "We cannot name the exact date for an updated and more powerful engine.
"But we try to make certain improvements before each grand prix -- as was the case before this weekend," said the Japanese.

Yeah but at this point the PU limit is the least of their worries. The Honda PU is far enough down on power that if they get a solution that is a decent step they'll eat the grid penalty to be moar competitive farther down the road. At least if I was running the show that's how I would do it. I'd guess the PU they are running now will last until Spain, at least. They might even try to push it to Monaco. Almost no running prior to the race in P1 and P2 for China and both STO and ALO retired, STO only a handful of laps in, just like in AUS.
