checkered mats have been long discontinued and go for a pretty penny nowadays used or new. Your best bet is to get a set of black UKDM type R mats for about $150

 

There is a full set of checkered on ebay right now, BNIB, asking $2700. Absolutely crazy. I doubt they will sell but maybe there is someone out there who wants perfect and will pay for it.

I sold a pair of 8/10 front checkers for $300 USD last year. I saw them in a BaT car recently.

I am running a set of LHD EDM mats and have a brand new set of of USDM / CDM 2001 still sealed. I can't bring myself to use them.

 

I sold a set of checkered mats that were 7/10 for $260 so that's around what you'll pay depending on condition. The 01 non checkered are still available new for like $320 or so

I got my LHD EDM mats off ebay last year for $145 USD shipped. The seller was in Hungary. They are for LHD and are not the same as USDM.

​​​​​​​You need USDM 97-00 checkered mats if you want oem spec for your 97.

My advice to anyone who needs ITR mats is buy some now. OEM MkIV Supra mats are long discontinued and sell for $1000 to $2000. Same thing will happen with ITR mats.​​​

 

I know those I think they are ugly I can't find checkered anywhere. I have seen grey OEM ones. That crazy they charge that $1000 for them now.

If you want OEM mats for your 97-00 just bite the bullet and buy them from the dealer for $350. The checkered mats are insanely over priced.

 

Find me a dealer that has a set there all discontinued.

 

He's talking about the only type R mats that are available from the dealer which are the 01's. Which are the ones you have "new" selling on eBay for like $440.

It's either those or the ukdm new.

Or find some used ones which really dont pop up too often.

 

My local dealer in Canada said the 2001 floor mats are discontinued as well. Not sure about USA. Please do not buy the crappy NRG or red generic mats.

I have the checkered floor mats in used condition in front and rear seats (not trunk mat). I might consider selling them for the right price to fund a purchase of those gorgeous brand new ones.

 

I'll trade you. I have the brand new ones. As long as your checkered floor ones are still i good shape. My are brand new only took them out to take the picture.

Acura North Toronto has a few sets.

 

I had the 01's.. in my opinion the off-black/faded looking black color is an eye sore. I'd much rather have the ukdm mats as they are jet black: in addition, the red stitched outline is a nice touch.

Not to say I wouldn't mind hoarding an 01 set bnib as I love to collect things for our caRs.

But overall, nice mint 97-01 checkered itr mats is where it's at. Honda thought so too, as the itr trunk mat was only produced in the checkered pattern
