^^^ Your gen are a bitch to put a lift on. I don't even know if spacers work. Most people have had a hell of a time lifting those. Check out geanthemean or something like that build thread.
After reading for a while a decided to share my gen 2 ( rd4) with u guys!
It is a work in progress so still need to do a lot of stuff.
this is how it looked when i bought her:
after installing window visors, lifting her 2 cm ( 0,75 inch) painting the wheels, and fitting 225/70/16 tires it now looks like this:
In a couple of weeks i will fit the front tires, some plastidipping is going to happen, and i already have a roof rack.
On eBay i found some PU strut spacers for the rd4, from russia. ( i live in holland so shipping was not to bad )
But i know for you US people can buy them here: Honda CR-V 2002-2006 (aka GEN 2)
for me this was not interesting because of the shipping costs
01 crv GT edition, thanks for all the information guys. Want any details just ask.
I'm curious what a GT edition is, never heard of it. Also I like the wheels, did you paint them yourself? I have the same ones and was thinking about painting them black so its nice to see how they look....
My usual Honda is an S800, but for weekends the CR-V is needed to cope with local mountain trails, and even our minka driveway sometimes under admittedly light snow.
Native tires are of course H/T spec, but after the last set of Dunlops expired after 50,000km, I thought I would try a set of A/T Yokohama. Size-up (at least for Japan) at 235/60R18 (over the stock 225s), I am amazed how grippy the G015s are off road. The Dunlops would have the traction control light flashing furiously, but through light mud, over slippery rocks, and not tried in snow yet, the Yokohama just plow on. No VSA activity at all. They are even quieter on the highway than the H/T Dunlops. Amazed.
Though we bottom out sometimes, I am not sure we need a lift kit for what we do nearly every weekend (sample below), but I can dream. Some over-fender too perhaps... Neko

I think the GT edition was only available in Canada. It came with the side bars and one on the bottom of the front. I'm not sure what else is different. Yes, they are the steel rims, I did paint them myself.
Combined 2" spacer lift with my coilovers on Bilsteins. Think I'm about as high as I can go without running into other issues. 235/75/15 on 15x8 +0 with 1.5" spacers.
Almost got all the parts to do my B20 vtec conversion. Should start that after Christmas. Pretty excited.
Hey everyone, got another question I'm hoping you guys could help me out.
How are you guys dealing with the positive camber from the result of lifting your crv? I found that ek upper control arm is shorter which would give a negative camber. I also found they have adjustable camber for ek ranging from +5 to - 4 camber and was wondering would these work to correct the camber change?

So, I used spacers, 1 1/4 front, 1 3/4 rear. When I got the alignment the front was still in spec but the rear toe was way out. After some seized bolts were dealt with it was all good. I was also worried I'd need front adjustable upper control arms but I didn't. Just get an alignment then worry about it.
As a side note I am a working licensed mechanic. I also did alignments for years. If anyone has any more technical questions I'd be glad to help if I can.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought the alignment angle would change drastically. It's good to know it won't be too bad.
Anyone have a squealing sound after mudding ? I didn't wash my crv right after mudding so I'm hoping it's just dried up mud in the brakes causing the sound as I accelerate and nothing else serious. gonna take the tires off this weekend and give it a good wash.

Does it sound like it's coming from the back or middle of the car? It's possible that the driveshaft bearing/bushing got damaged...I had to replace mine a couple years ago for an extremely loud sound when I was speeding up in reverse. It could be in the brakes but unlikely since the rear drums are sealed well enough to keep actual mud and other solid things out.
Hey everyone, I finally got my lift spacers, wheel spacers(15mm) and tires/rims to do my lift. The front spacer is 20mm and rear is 30mm
Honestly, unless you look at it everyday I doubt you'll see a difference. The front is measuring at 31" and the rear is 30". Have to figure out how to add an inch to the rear...
I'm going to toss on the wheel spacer and steelies another day. My torque wrench slipped on a bolt and gave myself a cut just under my eye(lucky). Hopefully it won't be a black eye.
Thanks again for all the advice everyone. Really appreciate it.
So went to try and put my spacer on and found out that the studs sticks out past the wheel spacer thus not able to put my steelies on... I might have to cut the stock studs off to fit the rims.... Or look for other aluminum rims with a gap... Decisions decisions....
got the lift on 2" spacers front and rear. 215/75-15 on 15x7 +6 cragar wheels. 6mm spacer up front. Just some short sweet info on my setup. Not bad for a 294,xxx mile turd!

nice, it looks like it's in great shape. With 2" front and rear do you find the front considerably taller?

Hahahahahha
Hey guys, I just picked up a 01 CRV. Its been ages since I updated my resources on the 1st gen CRVs but can someone update me and tell me is it best to buy springs or have a custom spacer/coilover set up? Are OME springs still the best lift springs around? Whats the most common lift brand/kit everyone is using today for their RD1s/RD2s?
