Did this yesterday. Hopefully I get the flywheel, clutch, and transmission today. I need to check if I have the alignment tool. I know I have one for a D-Series but can't remember if I have a B-series one as well.

Did this tonight. A lot of removing and installing and removing and installing.

Clutch and fly wheel in. Transmission ready to go.

Transmission on.

Got the intermediate shaft in. For those of you who don't have a JRSC, this isn't easy. Then I took the intermediate shaft out because I realized I didn't have the transmission seal in. That burned an hour of my time...

Inspection plate is in and so are the engine stiffeners.

Shift linkage is attached to the trans. Surprisingly, that was easy. There's really not much left to do.

Your build reminds me that patience and dedication along with some beer is what is needed to keep pushing. I'm going on about 2 years now on my engine build and it hasn't gotten off the stand yet. Been beating myself up about it too!

Almost there. Can't wait to see it all up and running!

Mods, can we delete the three posts above this? Especially supkamp's rtard post.

Pulled the transmission over the weekend. Hoping to crack it open tonight and find out why it wouldn't shift into 3rd or 4th gear. I'll post pictures of what I find.

RE: Intermediate shaft install/removal being a bitch with the JRSC alternator bracket and oil cooler clocking in the way. A swivel attachment on our socket wrench works wonders when trying to remove the top bolt. Without out a swivel, I had to use an open ended wrench and flip it over every 1/8th turn.

Got to the second step in the disassembly process and got stuck. Looks like I forgot to put a washer on one of the guide bolts for the shift forks and stripped the threads. Now the bolt won't back out further than what's shown in the picture. It's also likely to be the main culprit as to why I couldn't shift into 3rd or 4th. I'm hoping to not find too much more damage once I open it up. But, I'm not holding my breath...

Transmission is back together and shifting fine. The whole problem was from omitting that one washer. I didn't have to tap the threads, either. I was able to clean them with a rag and chase them with a fresh detent screw that I was able to score from a D-series transmission at the local pick-and-pull. It turns like butter. I applied a drop of RTV to the threads just in case.

I'll post pictures later. The D-series bolt and ball are the same as the B-series but the D-series spring was shorter. It also took me a while to realize that it was shifting fine. I was expecting a larger rotation.

Reservoir for my heat exchanger.

The LHT system for Jackson Racing Superchargers uses an air-to-water cooler intercooler.

I'm getting really close to starting the engine. I just need to buy some fluids, clip/bolt a few things in, and check to make sure my bolts are tight.

I just found your build - can't wait to read it!

Really cool that you saved a 5th Gen hatch, they are my fav.

Also cool that you got to do the work with your Dad. I am working on my '94 and hoping my little guy will take some interest in the work.

I can't wait to learn more about the Jackson SC - I was under the impression they did not fit the B18C1 in our hatches...
