00 EX w/ GSR swap, no ECU or Fuel Pump power, and yes I searched
Hi all, just wrapping up the swap in my 2000 Civic EX and running into a snag. The car is a 2000 manual trans car and I used the original harness. The engine/trans is from a 1998 Integra GSR manual trans. I re-pinned the CKP sensor to match the Integra's sensor and extended the rear O2 sensor. I also spliced in the larger plug (OBD2A or Si) for the distributor to connect. I have checked the ECU and fuel pump fuses, I have verified all 3 ground in the engine bay (and sanded the contact on the thermostat just to be safe), I have tested the main relay connection, and I have bench-tested the main relay and replaced it even though it passed. I have tried it with the original EX ECU (P2P) and a Civic SI (P2T) ECU, both are OBD2B, both don't have immobilizers, and both don't solve the problem. When I jump either pin 1 or 5 to pin 7 of the main relay, the fuel pump primes which screams "bad main relay", but that hasn't fixed it. Solders look good on the relay and it passes the test of each relay inside the main relay, clicking on and having the correct voltage at the correct pin. When it's in the car and the key is turned to ON(II), it doesn't click, the check engine light doesn't come on, the fuel pump doesn't prime, and the injectors don't spray. I have tested the connection on the ignition switch according to the service manual and it has continuity in the correct connections in off, acc(i), on(ii), and start(iii). In start(iii), the engine will crank but will not start, even with the fuel pump jumped in place of the main relay. Any ideas where I can look next?

Just tested it out. The fuel pump DOES turn on when A16 is grounded. The wiring schematic has A16 as "FLR - Fuel Pump Relay"...what part am I changing?

The test result tells you that the main relay side of the circuit is working fine.
The next step is to take some voltage and ground readings at the ECU connectors. Do you have a multimeter?

This isn't your problem since it's still happening with the original ECU, but if you're using an '00 - '01 Integra ECU you will need to move ECU pin A16 to A15 or the fuel pump wont prime. See pic below:

Okay, so how would B20 ground and not B22 if they have a common ground? And if grounding aA16 causes the relay to click and the pump to run, how does that affect no voltage to B1 and B9? I don't see pin numbers on the main relay diagram...could I check for continuity from that pin to B1 and B9 to ensure a good connection?

Please study the circuit diagrams I posted.
Separate wires clearly run to ground from B20 and B22.
Also note that the fuel injectors are on the same circuit with the B1 and B9 wires. Do the fuel injector and IACV connectors have battery voltage with the key in ON(II)?

Sorry, the diagrams weren't loaded when I replied earlier. Do you have a copy of Ground Distribution, page 14-2? Looking to see if there is a connector between B22 and G101.

I FIXED IT!!! I hate the threads where they don't post what solved their problem. It turned out to be a recessed pin on C101, on the driver's side of the engine bay near the clutch reservoir. I saw the shiny part of the pin hanging behind the connector on the (gasp) yellow and black (in position #5 of the connector). Disconnected it, re-seated the pin, and re-connected the connector and now everything works. Thanks for the help Honda-Tech!

RonJ,
I tested the ground again with the other connectors and it has continuity. I might not have had the probe in far enough. Now that I have a fuel pump, main relay, and ECU, I just have to figure out my new no-spark problem
