Re: S2kphile 1995 Honda Civic EX Coupe Restoration Build
I found out my trail arm bushings were worn and decided to get some new ones. After researching I decided to go with the Hardrace Bushing kit. I thought I might as well replace the bushings as well since it's old and it might fix my alignment issues and boy was I right there. Images below:
Hardrace Bushing Kit
All new bushings ie LCA/UCA & Trail Arm, etc
Trail Arm Bushing after 20+ Years and 255k Miles of Use
The rubber is worn and torn. It was the reason my car would make squeak noises whenever I go over bumps
Here's what my front LCA look'd like
And my Rear
How bad the rubber after so many years.
After the installation and alignment
All I can say is the car drives a whole lot better. It's more compliant, less shaky at higher speeds, more predictable, and a bit firmer over stock.

Previous owner is a great guy. Sold it because he didn't need it anymore. you bought a 250,000+ mile civic that needed maintenance. I highly doubt you HAD to dump $1700+ into it. I've ridden in this car and drove it. You were paying for a 100% stock non riced out example with a decent engine. What did you expect?
Previous owner stiffed no one..
That being said, nice bushings! I have the same set. Seat covers though.....

Previous owner is a cool dude. I just didn't realize it needed this much work to get it in proper order and I mean excellent condition with no major/minor issues. I could have just ignored them and driven the car for a while but that would lead to bigger issues. And I'm meticulous when it comes making sure the car is 110% mechanically. And that is why I spent over $1700 in new OEM parts/fluids and went aftermarket on something things (ie. CAT & Exhaust). I'll agree that it's cost money to find a decent 100% stock example with a perfectly good engine. I'm just sure the previous owner never took the time to fix the issues due to the fact it wasn't worth the cost of the car or he didn't know.
That being said the car is fantastic and I'm happy I was able to get this example from him considering how hard it is to find a clean one without paying out the ***. Oh and I LOVE that it comes with A/C and Power Steering. Now I just have to fix the cosmetic issue aka body and paint.
As for the seats I'm searching for a full set of Integra Type R Seats front & back or blue GSR ones to replace the current seats.

Just making sure the air was clear. The picture you paint in your first post seems as though you feel the original owner did you wrong. Hell, I have never even seen a stock 92-95 radio in a civic until this car haha.
I know where a good condition USDN ITR rear seat is if you are interested. I picked up the front seats over the weekend.

No issues with previous owner like I said before I knew work was needed on a 20+ year old car with 255k miles but I didn't realize it needed that much work. I could have just bought a B-swap with no A/C & PS for the money I dropped but I wanted a stock daily that gets me at least over 35MPG on regular. The radio is one of the things that drew me in since I've been looking for a stock 94-95 example of an Si or EX coupe/sedan.
Btw, how much is the owner asking for the type r rear seats?
Re: S2kphile 1995 Honda Civic EX Coupe Restoration Build
So I had time this pass weekend/week to do a couple of things to the car. I took out the seats out of my interior and completely vacuum and shampoo the carpet along with the seats.
It took me forever since I had a small portable shampoo cleaner but the end result was fantastic. You can't believe how much dirt and crap can accumulate over a 20+ year period especially on the seats your sitting in.
Left is Water w/cleaning solution vs Right is the Dirty water I pulled from the Passenger side Front Seat.
Same with the driver's side which was worse. I had to go through 7-8 passes in order to get the water close to clear.
BONUS: 95 GSR Front Seats that I picked up for cheap. Almost perfect condition with the exception of it being dirty but one couldn't tell until one shampooed it. I found the passenger side seat had a soda spill.
IMO, they are a lot more comfortable than the stock EX seats with bigger bolsters and that adjustable lumbar support is a godsend.

Thanks. I love the way the 5thgens look vs other Gens. This one is definitely a keeper. I'm gonna drive this car to the ground or at least pass the million mile mark.

I think so too. I found myself driving this car a hell of a lot more and enjoying more than my S2000.
Re: S2kphile 1995 Honda Civic EX Coupe Restoration Build
Did you ever get the wheels on? I'd love to have those for my 99 sedan. Car looks good, and I know how you feel about trying to make everything 100% in good working order and the surprises that come with that.
