Default My 99 Y56 JDM DC2

My name is Paul and iam from Ireland,Iam a jdm and honda enthuastiast the past 15 odd years since i could drive, but enough about me,this is what ye want to see!!

My genuine Y56 DC2 RX

Since I purchased my original championship white DC2 five long years ago I remember finding out on the net the existence of a super rare phoenix yellow integra.
I was sorry I didn't buy one back then.
.No matter how much I loved the car but it was never going to be the exact model DC2 I wanted.

They were a rare sight in Japan but what was even rarer was the optional yellow recaro interior that came with them.
Bright yellow recaro front seats, with yellow stiching on the gear gator, steering wheel and rear seat.

This is now the currently 1 of only 2 road going Y56 DC2 in the country
and the only one with the full yellow recaro interior.

This particular car I have lusted after for many years since it was imported by into the UK by Torque GT as a bog standard grade 5 import with 20k miles in 2008.

Jap acution sheet and uk import sheet.

Its a well know teg in the uk and had three enthusiasts own it in that time ,all on itrdc2.com its surprisingly was running smoky and had high oil consumption and loss of compression,( turned out that one of the valves was damaged which caused this) when owned in Aberdeen (a UK Honda hotspot) by a chap call Maclean who set about rebuilding it.

The interior is still in amazing condition, not ware on anything really. The photos dont really do the colour justice. The outside is also very hard to fault. Not a pin dint on her.Luckily he was undersealed as soon as it was imported. Those uk lads really know how to take care of a car.

When I mentioned earlier the engine was rebuilt, its wasn't to standard.

Glaswegian power house Performancetek first forged the engine and ran it in before Henry Roy of Tripple H added Jenvry individual throttle bodies and mapped it via a DTA S40 Pro series engine management system with a proper timing wheel installed on to the crank pulley (ITB's can be difficult to tune and this is one way to do it proper)

http://www.jenvey.co.uk/

I have a folder full of service history and receipts, some are quiet eye watering.

Its also got a fully spoon system from a super rare 4-2-1 manifold ,B pipe and N1 which is an experience in itself

Sounds nothing like a B18 at low revs, more like a growl off a Subaru, this is a utube video of it at full tilt

Spec list is currently

- Engine / Transmission
Full B18C Engine Rebuild
*Stripped insepct clean Block and head
*Hone cylinder bores
*Polish Crankshaft Journals
*Replace gaskets/ Seals throughout
* ACL race crank Bearings (b/e, Mains, thrust) *

Gear Box has been Stripped and Rebuilt with Carbon synchros From M- Factory
M-Factory Solid Shifter Bushing
Spoon oil cap

- Engine parts: Brian Crower Conrods
Brian Crower JE pistons
Brian Crower Cams Stage 2, Brian Crower Springs and Titanium Retainers
Skunk 2 Valves
AEM ADT Pullies
SARD F-P Regulator
Prelude Injectors
Spoon- Engine Mounts
SPOON Baffled Sump
NGK leads
exedy stage 2 clutch
HEL clutch line
Catch can JENVEY ITBS + Linkage Kit
DTA s40 engine management S
SPOON MAGNETIC DRAIN BOLTS
Spoon 4-2-1 manifold and full spoon n1 system

- Suspension & brakes
Buddy club front camber adjusters
Standard ITR suspension 282mm brakes Mugen Brake Lines
M-factory extended Ball joints brake stopper
Spoon front and rear braces

Security
Quite a lot as one would expect.

- Yellow recaro's with full yellow stitch interior
Mugen Cluster
Low position Seat Rail Gauge Pod With Oil Temperature/ Oil Pressure Gauge -Digital
Water Temperature gauge

Ignore the height of the cars standard suspension ill get to that. The previous owned sold spoon callipers and Buddy club N1 coilovers

The engine has done 7k miles since the build, car has done in total 53,000 miles with a full jap and UK service history.

It among good stock in its new home.

I am planning a full restoration with rare oem parts ,a full repaint, and a major mapping session as currently the car is struggling to pass our NCT (road worthy) test due to high emissions on the ITBs.

Watch this space.

Over a year on and this is what iv been up to with my teg, copied and pasted from different forums over time but you get the idea

While the teg is away for a full paint job i have been putting together some new parts.

,still wasnt happy with how the teg sat or handled on further investigation it turned out to be too siezed buddyclub front upper control arms.So i replaced with oem.
I also went with New BC V1 coilovers haveing been impressed with the BC BR in my S2000 there were a newer version.

I also found a jerky clutch change was down to a weep in the master cylinder.

I also have these waiting to go on.Should finish the outside a treat after the repaint.Again, brand new and genuine honda.

Thanks Nick Russell for these

and ICB motorsport for these

Here is the finished result

All the above problems sorted, looking forward to bringing it to Doneygal rally today.

Got a bit of free time and fitted the oem wind deflectors

a bit of an ordeal tbh,you have to slide the rubbers off the top of the door and place clips then you have to make a precise cut into another rubber, lots of tiny fiddle grub screws that fell down inside the doors and lots of cursing and swearing from my garage into the small hours. The instructions been in Japanese didn't help.

Got the toyoya oem rubber into all the skirts and spats, looks much better.

Gave the paint a good finishing cut in with black magic and a layer of wax, looking shiney.

^^ the blue seats were from DC5s and are a tad different. Would guess there are fewer sets of yellows though.

Top effort buying new OEM headlights, that must have been steep but they look awesome! Any idea what caused the valve damage at such low mileage?

Honda Day, Mondello Park, Kildare 29.07.16

Mugen phase one back on for this, first show trackday iv attended in years and really enjoyed it as i said in the other thread.

Good to see a really high standard of hondas around again

Great talking to ye all,i was surprised the amount of people that were seeing her for the first time as i have it nearly 3 years. Then again it was 18 months before i figured out a way to get it road legal.Iv only 5k miles on her in all that time.

Milage is currently at 58k (miles)

More oem parts arrive.

MTF (changing the gearbox this week)

DOHC Vtec & LSD rear window decals

I have replaced the 8 old dome nuts on the rocker cover

Old V New

A set of genuine Stanley clear side indicators should look so much better than their tangoed equilivant.

more arriving during the week.

Those clear side indicators have annoyed me for a while - I know they're OEM but do you know what car they're from?

I actually dont sorry but the fact the supplier crossed off the part number makes me wonder...

I just am not a fan of the orange repeater especially when there isnt a hint of orange in the headlight.
