Picked up some ID1300s for cheap
Cool little swirl tank Tractuff whipped up for me
And splurged a little. Last thing I want is a tranny keeping me from making a race. I've broken enough stock trannies to know. Just 1-2 for now. I'm not a baller. Lol

They have a protective coating on them from the factory that wears off. That's all that is.

That is a coating that prevents corrosion while in storage and also provides some lubrication when the engine is being assembled, degreed, and first started. It is meant to wear away.

Is there a specific reason for having dog engagement gears for first?
Since you start off in first gear, I would think it would be more beneficial to have dog gears for 2nd and 3rd gear, and not really needed for 1st gear, no?
Engine is gonna be a monster.

The shell isn't much to look at. Still need to finish cutting the interior, put a cage in it, figure out the wiring, etc. It's been sitting in the corner of the shop collecting dust. Been too damn hot to work on it in the shop and with my 12+ hour workdays I'm already burnt out by the time I get home. Lol.

Got bored and was tired of staring at the motor sitting on the engine stand so scrounged together some bolts, bolted the tranny up, and dropped it in. Now I can start planning out the plumbing and wiring.
