Default 1995 Accord EX Wagon Totaled!

Alas, my car has been totaled by the insurance company. It is a 1995 Honda Accord EX Wagon with the auto-manual swap completed;

It was struck by another car which ran through a stop sign and hit the front driver's side. The damage doesn't look too bad but I haven't looked at it in depth myself, it was driven straight to the shop afterwards. I plan on getting a detailed repair list from the shop for what they say needs done. The stated value is ~$2300 and the buyback cost is $235. I plan on buying it back and possibly fixing it myself or parting it out.

Here are pictures of the damage;

Looks like you put a decent amount of work into it. To me it would depend on potential frame damage and how much damage there is up front (radiator, condenser, p/s cooler, radiator support). Repairs for that can add up quickly. It's easy to change a fender, hood, and bumper.

That sucks man im sorry for your accident.

I hit a deer a while back in my 97 accord and have been slowly acquiring parts..
So far, I have put about $80 back into it..
Hood - $35
Light - $25
Power steering pump and belt - $20

Only thing that was really bent was my core support. It had bent the shroud for my condenser fan too but after I popped that out, the fan works still. I bent back a lot of the core support but it still needs work.

Havent had it on a rack to check for unibody damage.. Yours looks a little more serious..

I bought the car back, it ended up only costing $124! I got the fender and bumper off. It looks like the radiator support and the frame where the bumper bolts on has been bent. I will attempt to hammer and pry things back into shape. If I am unsuccessful I guess I'll just part it out. I've never attempted something like this before so it'll be interesting.

That sucks man. I love that body style of accord. Used to drive a 4 door one all through high school until I slung a rod. Dont let it go to the graveyard man

Hope the shop gives you a fair price. I would think with that much you can fix it up, unless frame damage is bad. Not a lotta EX Wagons out there. Theres always the tow strap/tree method. Make sure someone watches, don't use chains and whatever you hook onto isn't going to move.

Ok, So I just sold the car to another Honda enthusiast who does body work. He says he plans to build it up so it looks like it will live on.

The guys said I am the first person they have ever seen do the auto to manual swap and wire up the reverse light switch and clutch safety switch, that was surprising.

Nice. You still have the 97 in your signature?
