97 Accord lx cooling fan ISSUE......
Alright fellas, I'm A newb to the Accord lx I have. Here's my dilemma, my cars COOLING FAN (DR SIDE) doesn't come on unless A/C's on. I did the jumper and no fan came on, relays are good (already swapped em), fuses are good too. CONDENSER fan comes on AFTER cars turned on. Both fans WILL OPERATE DURING NORMAL
driving BUT ONLY WHEN A/C's on like I stated earlier. Now I replaced the front fan switch, and it looked like the fan switch near the thermostat was changed too but not %100 on that. If anyone's had this issue please tell me WTH is the issue, I'm wrackin my brain trying to figure this car out. It's getting pretty warm where I live and I'd prefer not to lose my engine because of this if it's a simple fix. I'm thinking it might be the fan switch near the thermostat but not too sure. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is the rad fan (driver side) doesn't turn on AT ALL, IF I DONT TURN THE AC ON. That's my dilemma, then my car starts getting HOT. So unless my thermostat has crapped out on me, I'm drawing at straws. 😞

DS is the condensor fan.(smaller one)
Unless you're driving on the right hand side.
What fcm said is correct.

So why doesn't the rad fan turn on at all, the car just ends up getting HOT. 😞 I've even let the car get warm idling in my driveway and it doesn't turn on at all.

Is each control module separate to each fan? (I know that's prob a dumb question but my knowledge of how this cars electronic control is new to me). Also, if the modules out would that effect as to why the jumper test in fan switch A didn't work?

OIC, then the problem is either the ECT switch, or rad fan relay, when A/C is on the rad fan is controlled by the Rad Fan Control Module.
You said the relays are good, but did you test for power at the rad fan relay, there should be two powers, a 12V constant, [hot at all times] and a switched 12V, [hot in run and start] relay control is a ground from the ECT switch. 94

While the ignition is on both fans will run when prompted to cool down the engine. They never run together when the ignition is off. When the ignition is off and the engine starts to heat up then the passenger side fan(radiator fan is what it is called) will come on for a total of 10 minutes, if needed for that period. After ten minutes it shuts off until the ignition is turned on and off again.
What you should do is turn the ignition to on, without starting the car and disconnect the connector at part 16 and stick a paperclip in there. It should turn the fans on. If it turns the fans on then you need to replace part 16 with one straight from Honda. It's best to spend the extra couple bucks to get cooling system parts from Honda. Aftermarket cooling system parts are a crap shoot for lasting even remotely as long as Honda parts.
