Hi iam looking for help to tell me wich crankshaft is this I was told it was b18c gsr please need help

It sure looks like a B16A crank to me.

 

Hi I was told that crank came out of a gsr but I want to make sure the marking on the crank sais c3 follow 3 and a 4 also near the flywheel there a c and thank you so far for all the help but I need to know for sure want to finish this built

 

Its a gsr. Here is another ht post where it shows the same c3 marking.

 

Forget the markings... some of that is similar because the stamped letters and numbers are for bearing color identification and NOT crankshaft identification. The obvious identifying trait here is the counterweighting... the second, third, sixth and seventh counterweight are bobbed. This matches the picture first posted by the OP marked as "B16A". The GSR crank only has bobbed counterweights at position 3 and 6. Also, the trained eye will see that the rod journals are wider than the B18C1/5 journals... and they overlap the main journal more meaning that the inner edge of the rod journal is closer to the crank centerline.

 

Thank so far but still confuse because I was told that crank came out a b18c gsr with p73 conecting rod and piston and I did plastic gauge and all in the spec from honda manual so that was it confusing

 

Compare with pictures in second post, or post up pictures with the same angles that post used, we cannot see the the parts in question with the pictures you have provided

do you see any markings on the counterweight as seen in the reference photos near the snout

 

Have you tried to install a P72 or P73 connecting rod on one of the rod journals of the crankshaft ??? If you snug up the rod bolts and then try to move the rod along the length of the crank, there should be almost no play end to end... and you will NOT be able to see any of the shiny rod journal exposed on either side of the rod. You can also mock up the crank in the block with a rod and piston and see if the the piston comes all the way up to the deck surface at TDC.

You seem to be putting more stock in what the seller "told" you and less in what has been given to you in this thread. Now, the question you have to ask yourself is will you get more reliable information from a guy trying to sell you something, or from someone on a Honda specific web forum with no skin in the game ???

Bottom line: The picture you have posted does NOT look like a B18C1 or B18C5 crankshaft. The seller telling you otherwise doesn't change the crank. I suggest you stop trying to convince yourself what it is or isn't based on supposition and TEST it... mock it up quickly and see what the truth is. Do you have an original B18C1 or C5 crank to compare it to ???
