Default Radiator fan won't turn on

How did this get resolved, i have the same problem. Relay is okay, fan works when powered directly or when I bypass the fan switch. I replaced the fan switch with a new one. The fan still does not engage and the car overheats after idling for 20 minutes. Did I buy a bad fan switch or is there something else I should try?

Check the pins in the switch and the plug and replace if bent or broken. The switch can be tested off the car by putting it in a shallow pan of water and heating the water on a stove. The switch should click and show continuity at 160 F.

Thanks Guys. MK378 you were right. I tested the switch on my stove and it worked perfectly. I tested on the car and it also worked. When I put the plug back on the fan came on for just a second. When I pressed on the plug the fan stayed on. i went to the salvage yard got a plug to replace mine. Problem solved.
