Re: EG Vera's build/timeline thread
I was able to find a 2nd set of 949 racing wheels so I picked them up and got them powder coated by a local shop called Camber Toe. I went with a different color that I haven't really seen before just to be alittle different. My next 2 upgrades are going to be fresh race pads for my front brakes and also a new driver side seat this way I can properly use/install my 6 point harness.
Since everything seems to be in good working condition I'm going to look over the car and check for any loose bolts or worn parts. Then I have my 2016 season pretty much planned out.
2016 Events to Attend:
-GTA Road Atlanta
-GridLife Round 1 at Gingerman Raceway
-ITR Expo at VIR
-HPDE levels 3 and 4 at NJMP, Palmer Motorsports Park, Watkins Glen and possibly LimeRock.
This year my friends Rob, Bryan, and new circuit racer Marc are going to also have their cars ready and attend most of the same events. It's always a fun experience to track with your close friends.

The 1st event for 2016 is booked. For this one me and the team are heading to Michigan to race at Gingerman Raceway for round 1 of the GridLife event series.

Re: EG Vera's build/timeline thread
Nice man I'm thinking about doing that one as well to make sure things are ok with the car before I head down to Atlanta in May. Would be dope to see another honda-tech member/racer at the track.

Re: EG Vera's build/timeline thread
This weekend we finally had some nice weather and temperatures were in the 50s so my teammates and I took advantage and did some work on our cars. We installed my new seat, installed new rear brakes, flushed out my brake fluid and put in Motul fluid, took out my buddy Robs single cam motor and then he painted his engine bay a battle ship grey. Then we also did some work on Marc's car and installed his asr sway bar set up, new wilwood brake kit, test fit his new seat and installed new rims and tires.
The track will be open soon so we will all get to go testing. I just need to buy new front brake pads and change my driver side hub bearing and then I'll be ready to go. My 1st event for 2016 will be the Global Time Attack Road Atlanta event in May.

Re: EG Vera's build/timeline thread
This weekend was a pretty productive one for my teammates and I. I looked over my car and everything is still in good shape and where it's supposed to be. I replaced my front brake pads, finally changed my throttle cable to the correct one and also registered for the Global Time Attack event in May so that's the next upcoming event for me.
On my friend Marcs car we ended up putting his motor into the car, installed an lsd and then installed the transmission, installed his header, linkage, everything you need in order to drive the car. We also bled his brakes and also switched him over to Motul fluid, and then finally took it out for a little test drive. His car is now about 90% done so we are looking forward to finishing this one this month.
For my friend Robs car we cleaned up his transmission and also installed a new Lsd and changed a couple syncros, and bearings. We closed his trans back up so now that's ready to go back into his car which is about 80% done. We are also aiming to have this one done this month so that we can all track together this summer.

I decided to use my old drivers seat as the passenger seat and not leave it there collecting dust.

Re: EG Vera's build/timeline thread
This weekends Global Time Attack event at Road Atlanta was by far the best event I've participated in so far. There were a lot of fast cars and it was very well organized event, to add to that the schedule was non stop racing for the GTA groups and after lunch the Formula Drift started so you were actually able to enjoy that event as well and not have to worry about running across to the other side of the track to get ready for your next session.
Road Atlanta is a very fast and technical track and was truly a pleasure to drive, i just wish it was closer to home lol. One thing i did notice is that the back straight is very long and beneficial for high horse power cars so that's one area where i definitely noticed i was being outclassed.
My 1st session out i had to really get used to the track and turn 12 sure was intimidating, my car felt like it just wanted to swing side ways and participate in Formula Drift. After adjusting tire pressures and suspension dampening i was able to go from 2 minutes plus down to a best lap of 1:52.2. After reviewing the go-pro footage i noticed some areas where i can improve and i'm sure bring my time down to 1:49.x with my current set up.
Here's a couple photos from this weekend and my 3 best sessions, hope you enjoy.

Here's two pictures taken by Luke Munnell from Super Street. I didn't know they came down for the event so it's pretty cool to see his pictures and see your car in it. Below the pics is the link to the article in case you might want to read it. The article also lists every drivers name, the class they ran in, and their best lap times.
