Default 94-01 Integra front knuckles in a 99 Civic?

A month ago I bought a set of front Ex/Si knuckles, rotors & calipers to upgrade my smaller 9.5" setup on my '99 Civic. After finally getting around to breaking them down to prep I measured the bore on the calipers to find they were 57mm. Along with different brake lines. So it looks like I bought a set of 94-01 Integra knuckles... That's what I get for not bringing a measuring tape or caliper. Live and learn I suppose. I have searched and searched and can't find a consistent answer if the 04-01 Integra knuckles are the same as 96-00 EX/Si knuckles. Some say the caster is different, or they are slightly taller, or the camber curve is different, or they push the wheel out a 1/2", etc. I understand that they will BOLT IN no problem, but I have no problem getting the proper knuckles & calipers if the Integra ones are a "down upgrade" in any way, shape or form to the Ex/Si knuckles.

Thank you.

That post doesn't talk about 94-01 integra knuckles...

Also, FWIW the front knuckles I bought have ABS.

abs doesnt matter. yes, they will work. you need to use your civic's upper control arms, totally different design. the only thing i can't remember for sure is if the civic brake hose is the correct length... that should be an easy google.

Thank you for the swap info! I believe you are right about the brake lines, I need to goto an EX/Si line. But... will this change anything else on the car like suspension geometry, track width, etc?

I thought this was for the EG not the EK can anyone confirm?

No offense, but you need to learn how to use an online parts catalog.

I can confirm it's not a problem for the EG.

Here are the part numbers for an EG knuckle and Integra knuckle. Exactly the same.

No offence, but I have an EK. I understand online catalogues are a great reference, but they can be and have been wrong. Posting this was my last resort next to purchasing a knuckle off an EX/Si and physically removing it myself. I found LOTS of info on EG swap information, but little on EK. I realize I should have done more research prior to purchasing the parts I did, I am just trying to salvage what I have without spending more money than I have to.

Thanks.

They will work.. they are shorter, it will affect your alignment.

I talked to BrakeExpert and he said the 94-01 Integra knuckles are about 1/2" taller and will affect you're camber, which can lead to positive camber. Went to the wrecker and bought a set of EX/Si knuckles. The Integra knuckles are ~11/32" TALLER than the EX/Si knuckles. I could get pictures but I have a feeling no one cares. Let me know.

Yes, upload to the thread. not to some 3rd party site where it will get lost and in 2 yrs it will be irrelevant.

(from top to bottom)
1. 96-00 Civic EX/Si knuckle on left, 94-01 Integra on right
2. This is how I measured the knuckles
3. EX/Si measurement
4. Integra measurement

Hopefully this helps anyone in the future. BrakeExpert says using the Integra knuckles is not a big deal if you are lowered and have camber plates, but try and avoid for stock ride height, no camber plates, etc. I am debating on using the Integra calipers, they are bigger, but I heard it will change the cars front to rear braking ratio. I messaged BrakeExpert but have not heard from him. Maybe someone else has some input on this.

From my understanding, any time you make one end "better", it changes the bias further that direction, it isn't necessarily related to caliper size only.

More aggressive front pads? Bias moves toward front. Better rear pads, bias moves toward rear. Simplest solution is to just get more aggressive pads in the rear.

Wait....so one could use 96-00 civic spindles on an integra to gain more negative camber then? Colour me intrigued.

OP...can you measure the hub centerline-to-lower ball joint?

What was your question again? I had this set up on my 96 DX and there was no problem. The only issue you may find is having to move the brake line a bit because it is not quite at the same angle as the Civics. You will need to keep your Civic brake lines or if you're a little nervous about it, buy ss lines as they will have a better angle. As for the ABS; if your car never came with any than simply clip the wire and leave the sensor. There is not any major geometry change that will make you hit a wall, maybe a little more camber but not much else. You have no choice but to use your upper and lower control arms so there will be no adverse affect. The Integra brakes are bigger than EX and you should be fine even if you have rear drums. Without a larger BMS, brake oil and pads, you shouldn't see much difference than what is on a EX/SI. Besides the front does 70% of the stopping anyways. I'm not sure what you're fussing about unless you prefer a certain camber/rake/toe/corner balance.
