re: LightningTeg's 600whp LS to LS-VTEC Build Legacy
Got the car out yesterday as soon as the rain stopped to get some gas. Roads were **** and it was rush hour so I didn't get much tuning done but it's running good. And noticeably cooler as well. It's been along time since I've seen temps hover around the 180 mark.
re: LightningTeg's 600whp LS to LS-VTEC Build Legacy
Cars running real good. No leaks, running a lot cooler, steering is fixed, tuning going well. Car still creeps a little. Waste gate spring is 11 and it creeps to about 15. Which actually works out perfect because 2nd will definitely hook 11 and the creep will work out making the car faster. It could probably use more timing as well which will help with the creep too.

I got it to 21psi last night, but Im already at 70% DC on the EBC which Is odd to me. Im hoping the last 30% will start showing more change per % and not get crazy unstable. I will have to throw the 14lb spring in otherwise.

At least that will be easier to swap out this time around

Yeah. I have another 3 port solenoid I could configure to act like a 4 port but not sure I wanna dive into all that right now. I wanna get it tuned to 30lbs first
re: LightningTeg's 600whp LS to LS-VTEC Build Legacy
I don't think it'll be necessary. Just more spring for stability is needed. I guess considering I don't use MAC solenoids, I've never had to worry about the 4 port vs. 3 port stuff for items over 30psi. But the symptoms you present seem to suggest more spring than duty.

When I had a 7 lb spring in on my old Tial it would be pretty linear from 7-22psi then small changes would make big swings in boost pressure. My 15 lb spring was about 60% to make 30 lbs. I figured the 11lb would end up working fine but maybe the turbo smart is different in that way. So far it has been very stable, just takes alot of duty cycle.
re: LightningTeg's 600whp LS to LS-VTEC Build Legacy
The springs are different in the way they are allowing less bleed off than the TiAL. That's why they tend to use only 2 spring choices instead of a dozen. But these are small nuances between the two companies. They don't share the same springs or behaviour.

So decent update lol
Car has been tuning really well on these injectors. According to logs, its faster then its ever been.
I use 100-130 times because the engine is at full boost for that mph in a 4th gear 70-135 pull and its consistent. Last years best was 2.7 @ 30lbs. Now its 2.65 on 27 lbs. The fuel curve demanded a small amount more fuel earlier (so its making more torque earlier) and a little less up top, as expected with a shorter runner manifold. Not sure if the injectors are just that much better?
I went out Saturday, a lot of good runs to be had. But the turbo manifold studs decided to back out on me after the 2nd pull =(.
I've since repaired with through bolts and nut on top.
Drove it to work today. Did a few pulls at lunch no issues. Same results acceleration wise. Im at 95% duty cycle on the EBC and I get a nice consistent 26lbs and 27 at the very top end with a 10% ramp in. so 100% is probably in the 28 range.

Spoolin' now goes through select dealers for their equipment, for now and evermore thereafter.
They have decided that going in the direction of utilizing smaller quantities for mass-customization like Hot Parts Kits.

Well we got rained out Saturday =(. Lots of what would have been awesome competition was there. We waited all day, it started to clear up towards the evening and they got a helicopter to dry off some of the runway lol. I made one pass but it was kind of pointless. I didn't really hit until 3rd, then 4th hooked pretty well, and i put it in 5th for a few seconds. Let off at 140
