What did you end up plugging the stock fuel regulator port with? AEM kept telling me that was a 1/8th NPT port but it definitely was not when I got it. I had to drill and tap it myself.

Crap, been so long I don't remember, it was just a random plug I had lying around.

Did a little tinkering today after work. Got my new copper exhaust manifold gasket. This thing is nice and thick. I'm wondering if I would benefit from a port matching of the head and turbo manifold?? Is it even worth doing??

I understand the exhaust port should be smaller than the header/manifold opening. The step is supposed to help prevent reversion. Idk if that is more or less relevant on a turbo setup though.

Also started swapping out the old nasty used bolts for better stronger new units. Finally got the ARP cam gear bolts and the correct size washers installed. looks so much better that the stock bolt. I have an extra set if anyone is interested.

I sourced them locally, so there's not really a part number for the kit. I spent some time and peiced it together myself.

I personally have always gasket matched on both sides of the head, aswell as int/exh manifolds / throttle body. Even turbo and wastegate flanges and the turbine housing itself. A little late in your case with everything all assembled though

Nice bolts, they add up quickly though $$

yesterday I wanted to just do some dry fitting and see what other things i might need. I bought some M8 x 1.25 ARP studs in a 44mm Length but looks like they are a bit too long and will hit the V-band flange. I think a 30mm stud will work better. I can already tell that pluming the water and coolant lines to the turbo and waste-gate are going to be REAL fun. Do people run a gasket between the Vband adapter and turbo, or just a thin layer of high-temp copper coat?

I personally run the gasket that is specifically for that housing.

I've never run one and never had leaks =/. I will this time around though.

You could always just chop those studs down however many mm you need.

Did you get the banjo fittings for the water? Should make it a lot easier on ya. I will get pics of how Im doing it when I get around to it.

Hi All. Just a quick tip.

No. On those conversion systems, you don't run a gasket between them. You can try, but they typically interfere with the turbine exhaust exit, due to the slight change in diameter.

Make sure the nut you use is wide enough to cover the size of the u-cut of the flange, or it could vibrate off. That's why I don't really recommend them. A nice M8 X 1.25 20mm bolt does the job. A little copper anti-seize to ensure that nothing snaps, and it's easy peazy.

If you mate it correctly, (and you went with the right company) you'll notice the turbine exhaust exit will mate up perfectly. This is without using a 4 bolt gasket or RTV. They seal just fine with a good quality V-band clamp.

Hope that helps as a guide. Good luck,

Yes no gasket when you have something small machined this flat.

But why did you not get a t31 v band exhaust?

With your guy's logic then we don't need to use exhaust manifold gaskets, flange gaskets, or even headgaskets for that matter right? The tolerance isn’t that great on them... I have had my fair share of them and had issues with them leaking in the past be it quality, cheap, stainless ones, etc... below is a pic of a few leftovers I have. As suggested, the "correct" way to do it would be to just use a V-band in the first place.

I keep forgetting I am not posting anymore LOL... tsk tsk... toodles.
