Slowly making progress on getting my car back up and running- Had a friend fix up some issues with the S4C trans and I smoothed out all the casting marks and painted the case with some Duplicolor "aluminum" engine paint. I thought it came out really nice.
Parts are starting to come in for the rebuild and should hopefully have the long-block assembled in the next couple weeks.

Awesome. One day I'll have the nuts to tear down my tranny for a rebuild. Also love how this thread is still going strong

I didn't have the nuts, that's why I paid someone locally who knew what they were doing . He taught me a lot though and showed me how everything worked. Engines are fairly straight forward, transmissions are pretty intense when you think that some engineer drew all of those crazy parts from scratch and they work flawlessly when done right.
I had to replace the 3-4 shift sleeve and the 3rd and 4th synchro as well as the differential bearings and one main gear stack bearing. It whined in first and that was a bad bearing on the diff and one of the gear stacks or whatever the proper word is. Pretty cool to see it all taken apart and how barely noticeable defects on the synchros and sleeves can cause major issues. Can't wait to see how butter smooth it works now.

So ima need a second car to take my time with it. I got to see how my buddy put his lsd in his car and I got pretty motivated
sweet setup you're not going to regret those Pic coil overs they ride amazing
Thanks! They ride pretty good, granted I'm on some balloon tires right now but that'll change tomorrow if the weather is nice. They feel very firm even on these tires haha!
Probably just Putnam events later on this year. Hope to go to some more tracks next year... finishing up the 240 (still need to get wheels/tires, and do the CTS-V brake swap) has been a big priority so the hatch is a little bit behind where I'd like it to be for this time of year!
