Idle issue, bouncing.
im in the same boat. I cleaned the IACV, nothing. Replaced the IACV, nothing. I adjusted the idle screw lower...fixed the idle, but only temporarily. Now it seems to only be getting worse. It will jump up to 3k on occasion.
im heading out to the garage with a spray bottle to look for any leaks in the intake mani and vac lines.
if by chance you fix the problem, please come back and give us your solution.

Back from the dead...
alright im back to give some positive notes to this negative vibe of a thread.
I was having some major idle issues: the car would idle "high" on the initial start up like any normal cold idle but then would bounce between 700-2000 rpm once warmed. I replaced and/or tinkered EVERYTHING I could think of...as a result; FAIL. Then I used a stethoscope (with the end taken off) and used it to track down a leak in the intake mani gasket...in a place that is not easily accessible. Once I replaced the gasket it now idles fine.
Maybe another avenue to follow if you are still having problems...

Thanks for the info! I've got another engine that i'll be swapping in once i've finished building it. The original issue on the engine already in the car doesn't really happen very often anymore for whatever reason (only when the car is really hot after i've been flogging it).
I'll be interested to see what kind of shape my IM gasket is in when i swap the manifold!
