del Sol thread v 2.0!
I'd post pics of the center console but i don't have one :p

and for more info on the cluster install theres a writeup on ozhonda. Let me know if you guys can't see it and i'll post it in here i spose.
just let me know.

UPDATE:
Played with the dash a bit today cause my LED's finally arrived. (along with some flasher relays cause i've upgraded to LED indicators, brakes etc).
Heres the three types of lights i was playing with:

From left to right: T5 - 3 LED (200 degree illumination), T5 - 1 LED (100 degree illumination), Stock Incandescent bulb.
I bought the LED bulbs from the following online store:
http://www.bl-led.com.au/store/index...&cPath=5_21_25
http://www.bl-led.com.au/store/index...&cPath=5_21_14
I used the T-5 3 LED bulbs for the speedo/tacho/fuel gauge area (needed seven for the del sol) and i used the T-5 1 LED bulbs for all the others (indicator, high beam, low fuel light etc - cause the extra illumination isn't needed for those areas).
Once the cluster is out its really only a 5 - 10 minute job to install the lights. You need to pry out the incandescent bulbs from the black holder and push in the new LEDs. They come pre arranged so you don't need to fiddle around with soldering/resistors etc. Straight plug and play yO!.
Once thats done its off to the car to test them out. LED bulbs are polarity dependant so if some of them aren't working you need to pull out the bulb holder out and switch it 180 degrees so that the polarity is correct. I was lucky, only a handful needed to be changed. hehe.
Here are the results:

Much nicer then the stock green colour that was there. Matches the lights from my gauges nicely too.
I also bought some relays to control my indiicators as i bought LED bulbs for all the indicator lights which makes them blink really fast (cause LED's have less resistance then incandescent bulbs). I researched a fix and alot of people were putting a massive resistor inline with one of the bulbs. Wasn't keen on this as the resistor gets bloody hot and isn't suited to the wiring in the car AT ALL. My dad's been an electrician for decades and reccommends that NOONE goes down that path as there is potential to burn your car down.
After hearing him say that i decided to hunt down a new relay to control the lights. The stock honda relay is a 6 pin relay with the following pin out (This is looking at the plug on the loom with the clip towards the top):
____| |____
| 1 | 2 | 3 |
| 4 | 5 | 6 |
------------
1: Right Indicator Trigger Signal (Red with Yellow Trace)
2: Right Indicator Signal Output (Green with Yellow Trace)
3: Constant 12v (White with Green Trace)
4: Ground (Black)
5: Left Indicator Trigger Signal (Red with Blue Trace)
6: Left Indicator Signal Output (Green with Blue Trace)
I bought the following relay to control the LED lights (its a timed flasher which doesn't rely on the resistance in the indacitor circuit)
http://www.bl-led.com.au/store/index...products_id=96

The new relay takes the following input:
B = Trigger Signal
L = Signal Output
E = Ground
To make things easy i just made some short wires with spade connectors to go from the OEM plug to the connectors on the bottom of the two new relays.
Note: You'll need two relays to make this work correctly (one for each side of the car) and you'll also notice that the new relays don't need the constant 12v like the old one.
You can now enjoy the brighter/more responsive LED lights whilst still maintaining a legal indicator flash rate.
All up, for the LED's for the dash and the flasher relays it was $70AU with express postage. The person i bought them off is in brisbane so shipping is cheap and fast :thumbsup:
Any questions, just ask :thumbsup:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: For us del sol drivers theres a few things i should point out. I used about 8 "3-LED" bulbs for the tacho/speedo etc. and about 10 "1-LED" bulbs for things like indicator/highbeam/seatbelt etc. However after installing LED's for use in the CEL position i realised that the light wouldn't go out, it would just dim. so i reverted back to incandescent for that guy.
I'm unsure how many bulbs for the center console as its in my spare parts box and i'm not using it.
also, if you use the same bulbs as i used you'll notice that the bulb for the fuel gauge/coolant gauge is a very tight fit (the LED Bulb is quite long in comparison to the stock one). Its easily fixed by using a 3-LED bulb and spreading the leds out a little further, just makes it a little more fiddly to get it through the small hole in the rear of the cluster. But its doable, cause i've done it.
Sorry for the long post.
love from down under. J

Do you need to buy the flasher LED indicator relay? or do you only need that if you want your blinkers to blink faster, what do you mean by the indicator? Kinda confused, but great post and loving the dash planning to do it.
The flasher relay section is only if you've changed your exterior indicator bulbs to LED. When you change them to LED they flash faster (original system is resistance dependant and the LED's are alot less resistant then the stock bulbs). Basically your car thinks you have a blown bulb.
The new relays have an internal timer and aren't reliant on the resistance in the indicator circuit.
If you only wanna change all your dash LED's then you don't need to worry about indicator relay change.

Is $160 plus $25 shipping too much for brand new complete in plastic wrap JDM del sol sun visors? I really want them and they're pretty hard to come by, especially brand new ones. Any of you guys that have them let me know if thats too much to spend.
Also if anyone has JDM map lights for sale let me know.

Hey this are the same bulbs you are using right? Just on a different site? And you used the three prong ones?

thanks.
The ones that illuminate the license plate? They're T10 i think. If you wanna take them out and measure the width of the bottom of the bulb you can find out what they are. T5 = 5mm base. T10 = 10mm base etc.

have a look at the link i posted.
I was buying 2 three prong ones for $4 a pair. and thats australian dollars. You should be able to get 2 three prong ones for about 2:50 US from the place i got them.
Then it would only be about $10 US for 8 of them.
i think the flat top ones will give you hotspots and dull spots. and then you'll wanna buy three prong ones and then you'll spend even more money cause you've had to do it twice. lol.
