Uh then why do I own an EH6 S?

I forgot what the ACTUAL rule is. I just remembered it when I went and checked my VIN. It has to do with liters of the engine.

1.5L SOHC = EG1 (92-95 S, 92-98 VGi, VXi)
1.6L SOHC = EH6 (92-98 Si, ESi, 96-97 S)
1.6L DOHC = EG2 (92-98 VTi, SiR, VTEC)

96-97 S's are EH6's because they have a D16Y7.

I never said, nor do i tell my customers that if there vehicle has over 120k then do not switch. I too have been in the auto parts biz for a long time and also been in the automotive scene for a while now. It is possible that if your vehicle has high mileage and has been using conventional oils through out its life that if you do switch to synthetic that it could cause leaks. So when customers ask me what my opinion is that is what i tell them. I can only state what i have heard, I (myself) have never owned a car with over lets say 120k and switched over to synthetic to see if it leaked. But what i CAN say is that when i purchased my 08 Si i asked the maintenence manager/ mechanic about switching to synthetic on my first change. And he advised me not to switch until my 5th change, because of some of the same reasonsof a vehicle with high mileage. But more for the fact of the motor/seals have to be broken in and the switch to a synthetic aka thicker oil could possibly cause a leak. His respone to me was " dude you dont know how many customers buy a new car and change the oil to a synthetic on there 2nd day of owning it and than they call us for a lookover the engine becasue it's leaking like hell". Thats what i do know. And when i bought my 08 Si it has 14 miles on it from load and unload and the first test drive which was from me. So as i was suggested i changed to royal purple on my 5th oil changed and it never leaked till the time i sold it.

And my mistake i meant to type synthetic, and also good **** on the bride pdf's i found out that they are infact real and when i go to put them in i will pm you back about the "happy bar" if it is still available for purchase.

It'll be here for a while. I haven't even posted it up for sale. I just know I don't need it anymore, so I figured I'd pass it on.

A lot of Honda dealerships will tell you NOT to use synthetic, because they want you to buy their oil -- Which is Exxon/Mobil dino oil.

ok so just to make sure i got all this - i have a 93 Si D16Z6 1.6l SOHC = EH6. and as far as oil goes i have 110K (original as far as i know) so i shouldnt switch to Royal Purple till i hit 120K and replace the seals while im at it? OR just do the switch when i rebuild the engine.

Yes its an EH6 (you can check the VIN on the dash or firewall if you wonder)

And if your motor has no leaks right now then I dont see a problem with switching.

I know it sounds odd - aluminum polish on plastic but it worked on mine. the finish on mine is kinda half n half and the parts where the finish is gone the mothers cleaned em up n made it look like theres still some of that finish left.

This may be a stupid question, but I am yet to find the stupid answer! Anyone know what the 4 plastic covers are for, two of which are located infront of the roof and the other two just behind the roof on every del sol? They are in line with the rain gutter trough. Always thought they were access clips to roof rack assembly points - but I think I was always wrong. Any ideas?!

Thanks dude. The plastic covers are in this pic:

http://www.swaqvalley.com/Blueprints...el_Sol_low.jpg

If you look on the plan view - the one with the roof off, there are 4small rectangular plastic covers - one on each corner of the roof (in line with a pillars and bpillars). I'll see if I can take a closer pic of mine when I get home.
