Default EG, EJ1 DIN Pocket instead of Head Unit

So I decided to ditch my head unit for good...Im going with a direct iPod to amp setup instead. The head unit is already out, Ill be wiring up the rest of the setup this week. I dont have the optional lower console, nor do I plan on getting one, so any storage space in my car for small items is virtually nonexistant. Im looking for some type of DIN sized pocket that will slide into the slot where the head unit normally resides. Do you guys know of anything like that from another car that will fit without too much modification? For example, I know the Taurus cup holders fit pretty well, but Id rather have a pocket to keep my cell phone, etc. A friend of mine gave me one from his '00 Si, but it has gaps on the top and bottom and will take a little fabrication for it to fit properly. Here's a pic to show what its like temporarily:

Ive heard that #12 in this part diagram will work, its from a 98-02 accord: http://www.slhondaparts.com/br...=true

Can anyone confirm this, or do you know of anything else that will fit without too much modification?

I'd like to know to. I just got a audio console, so I'll need to fill in that hole.

here are the various configurations I went through..

that is a 98-00 accord din pocket. It fits like your DIN pocket you showed, but it does sit flush like a blockoff plate. You can look on ebay for the DIN slot pocket from the JDM EGs..

I'm not trying to thread jack..but uhh, that optional audio console or anything, it looks pretty nice, it just fits right in on hwere the stock one is on 92-95's? How much is it?

PS: What is it? Is it some JDM crap or something sold optional or from a different model, or what?

The 98-02 Accord LX din pocket will fit.

$100 plus shipping from pokom on eBay. There is a JDM equivalent and a USDM optional console. You will need a USDM optional console (which is now discontinued and available on eBay and other sites).

Will the Accord pocket fit snug, or will there be gaps around the top and bottom like the one I pictured? If there's gunna be gaps either way, Ill just stick with the one I have.

Ask him a few more times, maybe he'll change his answer.

Are you on crack cocaine?

The two you posted.

I'll even pick out the highlights...

#1 quote: "that is a 98-00 accord din pocket...but it does sit flush like a blockoff plate..."

#2 quote: "the 92-02 Accord LX din pocket will fit."

If you had read my first post, you would've understood that I'm looking for something that fits better than the one I had shown, which obviously has a noticeable gap around the top edge. Clearly you missed the entire point of the thread, and haven't really contributed anything besides the usual Honda-Tech tom foolery.

Thanks, that sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Do you have any info on where I could get one, maybe a link or phone number?

yeah the audio console pocket fits that hole also. you can go to http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and download install instructions for the console and it gives you the individual part numbers for the pocket.

How does the center console from the del sol look between the seats where it ends?

Thanks Jspecsir, the pocket fits great.

sorry if I wasnt clear.. but there is a small gap on the top for the accord pocket. It does sit flush minus the top part not covering the two slits.

I still probably would rather have the pocket on the bottom.. vs the top.
