what do you guys do when you get scammed? do you do something about it, or leave it as it is?

i've left it a lot of times. but ***, i'm tired of this ****.. i wanna to do something. someone help me out. give me some info please.. thanks

well, you've seen what i've tried- pretty much everything within legal limits. it usually works, but it's best to try to prevent it 1st by requiring full name, addy, # (home phone if possible), say you're seding a money order even if not, since someone has to pick it up somewhere, look up the address, do a reverse phone search to see a matching addy comes up, be sure to speak with the person on the phone, and if he/she sounds shady, don't go through with the deal. if possible do escrow, if not send a postal money order express mail to the addy, that way you can track it, an adult must sign for it, you can request signature confirmation to see who signed for it (it helps if the carrier asks for photo id, but those can still be faked). if anything fishy happens, and you sent a postal money order, it is federal fraud (not that this deters many who still destroy mailboxes for fun). if possible, find someone local to the seller who can help you if necessary, and ask the seller if it's ok if your local friend can stop by to inspect the merchandise (even if your friend doesn't). if it's something expensive, write up a contract, sign it, fax it to the seller to sign, have them notarize it, and express mail it back, before you pay- offer to pay for these services- they are worth it. have the seller fax you a color copy of their drivers license, and if they're willing, other ids. if paying with an online service, only use credit card, so if they rip you, you can at least dispute charges.

 

this guy in GA.. the guy still saying that he's going to send it.. he seems pretty kewl still. but whats funny is, i sent it two day garentee, and it got there in two days, he says it never got to him. i check to see who signed for it, and it was him. then the MO got cashed and he still says it's not him. so he's getting cops to see wussup and get the guy that cashed it.. he was telling me if it doesn't come thru within two weeks he'll send it to me anywase.. i bought some 15' rota slips from him.. he seems pretty kewl, but it just sounds all so fake..

sounds hella shady. do not wait 2 weeks, and do not leave him to handle the police, unless he provides you with a case # and phone # of the investigating officer, whom you can contact to verify an investigation. file a report with your local police immediately, and call his local police as well. copy and send them all emails, receipts for money orders, the express mail #s, and most importantly, documentation showing that someone cashed it using his name. file a request with the money order company to find where and when he cashed it if you have not already. tell him what you are doing, and say that you are just helping from your end. if he's legit, he will appreciate it; if not, you might get your stuff or a refund sooner when he sees that you will not delay in legal proceedings, and have seemingly good evidence against him. good luck john.

no one email him yet saying this and that. as of rite now he's saying that he feels sorry and he'll send it. he said he'll take care of the money part himself. so until i get the rims, everyone can then start bitching at him. hahaha..

How did you see who cashed the money order? I tried that already but they don't know. Some punk in Danville, CA. I have all the information if someone lives near there. Apparently he had a red 94 LS-turbo that he sold on ebay. Any help would be appreciated.

 

what i did was i went to the money order website and emailed everyone of them services people. they just gave me a number to call and go from there. it tells you who cashed it and when, etc.. hope that helps

contact the authorities...sounds like you have proof hes got your money...if you have any email anythign that proves he owes you rims, go get those bitches!
