Someone on this board who shall remain unnamed for safety until things are more sorted sold me something and offered to accept payment through paypal. he's been on here a while, and has a decent rep, and it was not a lot of $, so i paid him through his email addy, but he said that it is not his paypal addy. OK, so when i go to cancel the transaction, it says 'completed'. Um, who got the money, and how were they notified if the guy from whom i bought it is the only one with that email address? the name of the paypal account holder does not match the name on the email id, but i could not get that info until the transaction was done. please help.

 

A word of advice for the future. If for any reason ANYTHING is not matched up.....i.e-Email adress to Paypal adress, or if credit card billing adress doesn't match home adress then forget it. Try emailing the guy you sent your money to, if he is a decent person then he should send your money back no questions asked. The more I hear about paypal, the the less I like

Just remember... there is no such thing as a duplicate email address.

 

Halo, I wish I lived in CT. Because I would personally drive to that guys house and split his skull for you. I got screwed over one time on Ebay, not for that much money but it didn't matter. Maybe you could find somebody on the board that lives close by. Sorry to hear about everybody's bad luck.
