Help. Ripped Off...
I was robbed. Please help. Much appreciated.
A few weeks ago, I won an auction on eBay for an item. A payment was made to the seller through PayPal with my credit card. He sends me an email informing me that he has received the payment, and the item will be shipped shortly with a tracking number given to me. However, several weeks pass with no reponse to me nor any replies to my emails. The seller is ignoring me after the payment.
I want to get my money back. How? I have heard numerous times that PayPal will not help at all. Can I call my credit card company and tell them to stop the payment towards PayPal?
What should I do. All help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

well, I had the same experience, paypal did not refunded my money...
you're pretty much out of luck with paypal, maybe you can get his address from the paypal acct. then pursuit any action you want to get done..
maybe you can post his name, address and what he's selling so maybe none of us will get taken again..

depends on what it was...ebay's insurance is through Lloyd's of London, but has a catch...
they insure up to $200, w/ a $25 service fee...
don't know the price of the item, as he didn't state it...but he'll be at least able to collect 175, assuming it was a completed sale through ebay, not an outside deal.

All you have to do is stop payment on the credit card. They dont put up with scammers. Tell them the story. Paypal sucks! Dont use it!!!! Paypal told me to kiss their a$$ and that they were keeping my 1100. Fawk those people.
PayPal sucks! I got ripped using PayPal and they didn't do a damn thing. They also allowed the guy how ripped me off to continue with an account with them after numerous complaint of my part.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm confused by all these posts that say Paypal has your money. Doesn't the seller have your money?? I mean, Paypal is just a go-through, they don't guarantee you delivery of any service or product, they just provide a way for people to send funds to each other electronically. You have to treat these services just like selling something from a paper or bbs. If you're willing to sell/buy over the 'net or phone, but you're worried about someone not being honest, use something like http://www.escrow.com.
just my two cents....
and yeah, I'd call my cc company if it's not too late.
