Default Re: GPS tracker

I'm considering buying this, but I first have a few questions for you:

1. Do you have a coverage area map? I would like to see the type of service I would get for my area.

2. You state that there's a 3-year service included with the $300 price tag (with no monthly or annual fees). However, after that 3-year time is up you will renew service (at the customer's request) for another 3 years at no additional cost whatsoever, correct?

3. After the first 3-years and the free renewal 3-year period is up, what is the cost of renewal? (so year 7, how much would I pay)?

4. Are you an authorized reseller of this product?

5. What type of warranty do you provide for us, as the consumer, that the service contract will stay active? If you were to go out of business for some reason, would my service still work and will I still receive the extended 3-year service after my initial 3 years are up?

6. Which type of relay is needed for the Starter Disable function of the GPS tracker? Is it included?

7. On the EliteTrak website it states that a "fuse holder and 3amp fuse" need to be added to the Red (+12V) wire on the GPS Tracker, but that this is already included with device. Is this the case on with you as well, or will it need to be purchased separately? I ask, because in your pictures I do not see it.

8. The Tracking System is a flash-based control panel, which is accessed through the web via a browser. Is the software installed on a local computer or hosted online on a server? If hosted online, what is the up-time of the website hosting the Tracking System software and what are the chances of it being down (for maintenance, connectivity issues, etc)?

9. Do you have professional installers for this products available in the Central Florida area?

10. What is the life of the GPS Tracker; how long does it last before needing to be replaced? Is the replacement device free of charge or how much does it cost? Does it require any maintenance (if so, how often)? What are the operating temperatures of the device?

1. Do you have a coverage area map? I would like to see the type of service I would get for my area.

The service is provided through Verizon based Subcarrier (similar to prepaid service). Their coverage map would be as accurate and up to date as the software revisions are not necessary for the device. it only has firmware upgrades.

2. You state that there's a 3-year service included with the $300 price tag (with no monthly or annual fees). However, after that 3-year time is up you will renew service (at the customer's request) for another 3 years at no additional cost whatsoever, correct?

This is correct. At the time, only a 3 year prepaid contract can be filled. No longer. But I offer (to the members of the forum and anyone who purchases through me) another 3 years upon request.

3. Are you an authorized reseller of this product?

EliteTrak currently and directly provides to Commercial car dealers and commercial transport. They have no Authorized resellers

4. What type of warranty do you provide for us, as the consumer, that the service contract will stay active? If you were to go out of business for some reason, would my service still work and will I still receive the extended 3-year service after my initial 3 years are up?

This is a 100% warranty and guarantee that your service will be up for your Contract period and can be renewed for the consecutive contract period. it is similar to cellular prepaid service.

5. Which type of relay is needed for the Starter Disable function of the GPS tracker? Is it included?

It is a 5 wire automotive relay. Constantly open wired between starter or ecu signal.

It is included with all units, it is in the box under the Unit and for some reason i did not picture either.

As for hosting, the site was down for a combined amount of 4.87 hours betwen jan/1/11 and dec/29/11 . This is per http://www.pingdom.com and may vary by the monitoring site.

8. Do you have professional installers for this products available in the Central Florida area?

I can set you up with a trusted installer. Our installers are found Being Authorized Viper Alarms Dealers, and have been found to be the most reliable and knowledgeable.

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. I will get back to you if I decide to purchase once I finish my research on the other services I'm contemplating.

In regards to the Relay to be used, my question was what type of relay is needed? I'm guessing a 5-pin 12V SPDT Relay, but how many Amps?

Also, is this Demo Site live? I tried using it, but I keep getting an "Address not found" error message.

4 members bought it. since its not like a gps that you use to navigate, its only used when locating your vehichle for thefts. as far as atlanta ga goes. 28 of 30 cars recovered within an hour. prosecution on all 30. this is over the past 2 years.
