FS: 97 ITR # 98
The time has come for me to sell my ITR. The car is very clean with no dents or dings of any kind. A few rock chips on the nose and front spoiler and wheels. Interior is perfect, no rips, tears etc. All service performed by acura dealer and is up to date. Car has 49,XXX miles and drives like a dream. I am asking 17K. Car comes with car cover and lots of misc stuff ( old air filter, touchup paint, etc) Bone stock with the exception of a new antenna and a set of AEM nissen pads and ATE Super Blue brake fluid. Car is located in Louisville KY. Email me for pics. I dont have a camera, but a friend of mine took a few pictures that I would be happy to send to anyone interested in purchasing the car. Thanks in advance.
Might be interested. Can you send me some pics. I might need little help on the price though... thanks.

I suggest you hop on that 2001, sounds like a good deal. I am selling the car purely because I dont have room in my garage for it. I am not in any financial situation, I dont have to get rid of it and if I dont get close to 17K for it, Ill just let my little brother drive it (he turns 16 in 7 months). I would rather sell the car than see it go downhill in my brothers hands, but I dont have room for the car anymore. If you dont like my price, just move on. I dont care if you think its high. Show me a CLEAN, STOCK, low milage 97 thats for less than 17K.

also, there are only 318 97R's produced, many have been recked, stolen, etc. some are track cars, i bet theres about 150-200 still on the road/street legal.
i personally would rather have a 97 over any other year (besides maybe a 98 b/c of the CW paint as well)

You should be able to sell it at $17K, someone offer to buy my 97R(42Kmiles) for $18K a month ago, but I turned him down cause I'll keep this car until the day I left this country(if this day happens)

Hell, a 1997 shell is going to cost you close to $7.3k. Engine and tranny alone go for $5.5k. 5-lug, $1.2k, seats $1k, etc.
Personally, I think $17k is ridiculous for a 6-year-old car that was $24k when new, but that is what the market is willing to pay for them.

Chuckle. I wish you a lot of luck getting a 1997 R in the $7.3-$12.5k range.

and as far as pricing parts ... i mean you would basically be paying for the engine/tranny/brakes with a body that is beat to **** .. and you know you would make some $$$ parting out a type R .... your comparing 1 extreme to the other
Well i mean im not in a position to defend the pricing scheme consumer guide is using ... but the 7.3 is a pissiest poor beat to **** one it says for a good condition one is 12,5 - 13,5
Plan reality of the marketplace is used 1997 with ~50k miles go for $17k or so. Higher mileage ones go for $15k. Lowest price I have ever seen was $14k. No 1997 will go for anything close to $7.3k unless it is missing its engine.
Look at the honda-tech archive, autotrader.com, autos.yahoo.com and classifieds2000.com if you think I just pulled those numbers out of my ***.
I was just sighting a pricing source is all ??? was not saying he would be able to get the 17k ... a car sale is definately on the sellers terms when they are in no financial need ....
good luck boss
This world revolves around supply and demand. the demand for ITR's are up, especially the CW ones, and the supply is super low. So i think those stupid books/consumer guides mean absolutely nothing. they are worth ****, if even that. You are not looking for a honda civic, or a accord, that you can drive down the block and see another one. I believe the seller should price it as much as he wants. He is in no hurry to sell, so why should he sell it at a cheap price. There will be someone to pay 17k+ for a 97 ITR...Hell the other day some middle aged man offered to give me 21k for my car, and he called me numerous times, but i didnt sell it to him, cuz it was for his 16 year old son, which = disaster.
Why do people not interested in buying your car feel the need to post negative remarks? 17,000 for a limited production car with ONLY 40ish K miles isn't bad at all. If you don't like it, just don't post. It is as simple as that...good luck with your sale.

and a bump free of charge for a clean car
well, dont know if this helps, i paid 15k for a 98 ITR with 44k miles, in excellent condition, im talking about damn near perfect condition. i was surpised to see it that good of a shape for a 4 year old car.
hope u sell ur ride.
Thanks for all the nice comments. I would really like to get 17K for the car, but I will accept any serious offers. I just dont like to talk money until you have seen the car and I am sure your not pullin my leg. Consumer guide, what the hell. The car is # 98 out of 318 sold in 97. I am sure there are less than 250 left running in the us. out of them, Id bet only 150 of them have less than 50K miles. Out of the 150, I bet only 100 are as clean as my car. So, I am proud to say that you will be very hard pressed to find a clean stock 97 w/ less than 50K miles. If you want, come look at the car, then make me an offer, but it better be a serious offer, I will not take 14K for it, get real.
The car does have factory installed A/C. E-mail me and Ill reply back with pics.
