here's the situation
I have a swap f/s a complete d15bvtec with the p08 ecu and a ex trans. I sold it to a member and even took 80 bux of the price of shipping off to sell it for 700
Since he said he wanted it asap I pulled it out last friday and called the shipping company - they told me they didn't have any other pickups out here for 2 weeks and some osha bullshit about not picking up a motor from a residence. Since I only sell personal not business parts here to follow the tos I decided to take it out and leave it there about 60 miles away so they would ship it as soon as the check cleared - I had several offers pending that I turned down in the mean time as well
Today when I get the check I get home and there's a message on h-t saying the buyer wrecked his car today and he's going to back out. Anyone whos bought from me knows there is abso friggen lutely no way I stray from the all sales are final unless there a manufacturers deffect not even for my best friend. If I started I would have even more stuff piled up people ordered and never payed for ect. Since he told me he was sending the check I went out and bought another engine essentially spending the money.
The other problem being while I was able to borrow a truck last friday now I will have to rent one to go out and get it plus the fact it's 60 miles one way so 2 trips of 120 ea in gas @ 15mpg which is 40 bux in gas and another 49.95 to rent the truck this time
My response was that if I was provided a vin and a case number I would have my friend who's a sherriff verify the accident and I would refund him the money -15% cost of bring it to the shipping company and now going and getting it
Without that information the motor is his and will be on a truck to him friday which is there next delivery sched to Idaho I guess
do you think I'm being fare ?

i think it's fair, cause if he already agreed to buy it, and u had already spent money to get the item to him, then it's already a done deal. i already nice enough of you to offer him money back minus 15% ($105), for your time 'n money spent. sucks for both of you, but **** happens, and it's a pretty fair deal
