Work in progress...will own
A preview of the beast

Next week the engine goes in & then she'll be done. Im working on her all wkend to get the rest sorted out. Im going to wait & see how Summit is w/ oversteer & understeer & then order the suspension I need so I can have some fun come August at CMP. Right now she is riding on blues & a prokit.
Where do I get a transponder?

I know who built the cage and I'm pretty damn confident Pete's car will be "tizzite." Watch out H1.
I got mine from Atlanta Region SCCA - http://www.atl-scca.org/ShortTerm/at...ansponders.htm. Very helpful people, got mine in about a week.

Tyson
Starts with K, ends in E, and is synonomous with "cha-ching!!"
--Karl, a happy K&E customer, who (IIRC) sent young Pete towards these guys a long time ago...knowing he would not be disappointed, regardless of the cost

Nice sunroof
Is that the same thickness as the OEM cardboard?
Nice cage. Do you have any pics of the driver's side door bars?

Thanks for the compliments.
I figure that every compliment is worth about 2 dollars & If I get enough compliments about the cage, then I wont feel the $$ I paid for it will be bad. The cage was the only thing I didnt want to tackle myself & Im glad I didnt do it since my cage is well built IMO. Every other part of my car has blood, sweat, hammer marks, & verbal abuse thoroughly bred into them.
Come Monday I will have to shop for the transponder. I forgot which brand that NASA uses... but Im sure they will be able to help me get the right one I need.
--Chris... cheap parts... I got a RR light housing for 5 bux
It's actually a 3 piece lightweight version of the OEM made by Tenzo. It also has aftermarket staples to make it stronger.
Not off hand. I stopped by on the way home from the shop at Jeffs' house. He was kind enough to snap a few shots in the dark. Anything in particular you wanted to see/know? The only thing I dont like is I have to open the door to roll up/down the window. I'll probably rig something to solve that.

Tenzo, eh? Are those JDM staples?
For an AMB Transponder in the SE, contact Bob MacIsaac (Atlanta Region SCCA??) b_macisaac@hotmail.com

NASA and the SCCA use AMB. If you are an SCCA member, you get get a good deal through the Atlanta Region.

Pete: I need to have a window
Me: Why don't you fabricate some plexiglass or something that can be fitted over the window
Pete: What if I'm sitting at a stop light and want to talk to somebody
Me: What? Since when do you talk to people at stoplights
Pete: I do it all the time
Me: laughs...
Pete... soon to be seen driving through Goldsboro in his driving suit and helmet... on the way to the grocery store to pick up some milk... ...trying to pick up chicks at each stoplight...
You'll never regret spending the money on a good cage. Never.
I have some tricks too. I plan to qualify back with the H5 guys and then try to sneak up on Shultz and Brinson while they are fighting each other.
OK... that's not true. Except for the qualifying in H5 part.
