when i originally started building my car it was not with the intent on road course/ solo racing.....but now, the only thing i enjoy about the car is driving it.....im in pittsburgh, PA and i want to race.....where do i begin? what is absolutely necessary to begin? recommended driving classes? and what class will i be forced into since the car is already modified?

it seems the setup i have would work well for it
i have a 90 integra with a JDM b20b, exedy organic clutch, koni yellows and neuspeed race springs, brembo blank rotors with axxis MM pads up front and nissin rears, b&m short shifter, apexi N1 exhaust

would cams and SAFC change the class i would start in?

Your car would fit in with the East Coast Honda Challenge and Midwest Honda Challenge. Both will race at BeaveRun, right down the road from you. The Midwest series also has many races close including Nelson Ledges and Mid-Ohio. The East Coast series races a few times at Summit Point, which is also not very far. You can learn more about these series at the Ohio/Indiana website http://www.racenasa.com and the Honda-Challenge website http://www.honda-challenge.com .

You will need to get a NASA race license first, so get in touch and I (or many people on this site) can help you through the process.

what is required to get the license? i dont know if i have the money or experience to hop into something like this......or is this still consider amatuer??

 

You will need to go to a number of our HPDE events (to gain the required experience), then enter a competition licensing school, and you will have a race license. Send me an email: mansier@racenasa.com and I will go into more detail.
