Default Wheel spacers in front .. will it help correct understeer ?

i'm looking at H&R 15mm wheel spacers..hubcentric

would that help my car if i get only 2 for front ?

i'm running on 225 tires on prelude 97 .. in 15" v700 ..

mmm
what would be the point in getting thoose??
what does it correct/helps to widen the front track ?
or both front and rear ??

i'm tryin to set my car as neutral as possible..then i'll dial some slight oversteer to it ..

i'll be getting ST rear sway bar soon
stock suspension for now

Under what conditions are you experiencing understeer? A stiffer rear sway bar should help a lot, but under very low speed conditions there is little you can do beyond very sticky tires up front (which the V700s are). Tire pressure will also make a large contribution, along with technique.

I would look at each of these factors before I went to spacers (although I have to use front spacers to fit 225s) and I don't think they would effectively correct your problem.

Tire pressures, tire pressures, tire pressures!!! Set the front to the correct pressures, then adjust the rear until you get the desired level of rotation. Trust me it works!

I had a 97 GTI VR6, one of the worst handling cars ever, and I had that car very balanced on a completely stock suspension on both street and race tires just by adjusting tire pressures.

Hmmm, how are you experiencing understeer in your prelude?
You have a base or SH?

In my SH, I never experienced a single bit of understeer, just oversteer when pushed hard around a turn, but oversteer in a controlled manner. ATTS does wonders, especially on on-ramps.

And yeah a rear sway bar will help overcome understeer and promote oversteer but you can be doing a lot worse to the body of the car with a sway bar on stock suspension. WIth all that sway still there from the stock springs/shocks, the stiffer sway bar puts tremendous stress on the car.

I have serious understeer in my 00 prelude, I'm surprised you don't feel any in the SH.
Honda318dx, what size ST bar did you get? Did it use the stock mounting brackets? and last question, do you have aftermarket springs/shocks or are oyu on stock? Thanks

I had a 98 SH and it would plow just like the base model in lower speed maneuvers typically encountered in an autocross. The car gets more neutral as the speed increases and even gets tail happy at higher speed maneuvers. So if you only drive the car hard on highway on/off ramps, you'll rarely feel any understeer, but in an autocross or on a roadcourse it definetely plows...

ehhe
i like to get a lot of feedback like that
eheh

so ..neway i'll try the rear ST bar ...
today had a solo2 event..went pretty good
with V700 for the first time on track
i like the Rs...it sticks..not as much as i thought ( wanted ) it would be but still pretty good
and the car reacts a lot better

i'll have to find good tire pressures though..

i was running at 40 in front wich seemed to be perfectly on the spot for short run of solo2

and i tried 41 in the back to try and get the tail out some on lift throttle and late braking..

maybe i'm doing it wrong..
maybe i should just remove some pressure in the back

so the spacers won't help that much ?

mmm
what exactly does it do when u increase wheels base in the front ??

tanx guys
