Default wheel offset clarification.......

Hey guys,
im in the market for some new wheels. the wheels im looking at are 17x7.5 with a 40 offset.

i drive a 2000 civic, and im wondering if this offset is correct for my application? i dont know much about offsets.

im going to run a 215 series tire on the 7.5" rim.

but im not sure on the offset?

Didn't you post this in another forum?

17x7.5" with 40mm offset will not work on a Civic especially with 215 series tires. You need a 43-44mm offset with that 7.5" wide wheel. And 205/40x17" tires.
