Default Tire Help?

Going to run some 205/50/15s.

I've narrowed down my tire choices to two tires but can't decide which to get. So I thought I'd post up here and get opinions.

Dunlop Sport 9000 or Toyo T1-S?

Probably because somehow, somebody convinced him he needed a tire that costs twice as much for half the performance of the Azenis, or he's never heard of them.

I cant imagine they'll cost less than the Azenis, which will be the better track tire.

Yep, the Azenis are a very good track/autox tire... I've also heard good things about the Kumho MX for a two driver autoX car and for track days.

Christian- who may give the Kumho's a try after his Azenis are dead

Go with the Azenis. Just got them 2 weeks ago for HPDE at Glen. I was in a bind for the HPDE event since I live 80% in Mississauga, Ontario (as does the original poster) and my Kumho's were still in NJ. $400 CND ($310USD) later, I'm on daily driven R- compounds! BTW I did get the $25 GST rebate when I crossed from Canada to the track event, so it was even cheaper! After a whole track day, the full tread Azenis did not chunk or overheat. Honestly, I think they are very close to my semi-used Kumho Victoracers. The other advantage for me is that I don't get funny looks when I cross the border for track events w/ a full set of tyres. Customs gets on you fairly quickly.

Original poster, if you want to drive/test the Azenis at the next autoX in Toronto, give me a ring. I'm on the Ontario Solo I and II series.

One other guy at the HPDE had Dunlop 9000. He had treads separation after a few track days. The Azenis do nothave tread blocks on the edges of the tyre which should hold together better and give less tread squirm than the other choices at full tread.

I think it is unheard of that there are people out there that havent heard of Azenis or have yet to drive on them. Eventhough 205/50/15 Azenis have gone up in price over the last year they are still worth the $70 a tire or so.

Here $64 a tire...
