Default throwing code. bad to auto-x

My oxygen is throwing a code. I cannot figure it out at all. I spent 4 hours trying to figure it out and still nothing. Do you think I will have serious/permanete problems because driving 1.5 hours plus racing with a code??? Will my computer go into the "sleep" mode becuase I have a code?

hmm, well its anybodys guess. Most codes arent a big deal. Do you mean its throwing an O2 sensor code? If thats the case, you may be runnign pig rich. Theres a chance you could toast the catylitic if its been like that for a while. Other than that, you'll just burn a lot of gas. It shouldnt do any damage....Also, I think you mean open loop not sleep mode.

I didn't think it would be that big of a deal so I went yesterday. I did all 6 of my runs and the check engine light never came on so I didn't have a problem during the event. On the way there and back it came on but I didn't have any problems. Now I have to fix this problem before the weekend.

I was really tired when I made that post and could not think of the name for that(open loop).
