Default sub strap placement q's

I currently have some adjsutable recaro's and they do not have the sub strap hole. would it be safe to use the sub strap since it would be mounted further up? TIA

Default Re: sub strap placement q's (enrique)

If it is a single sub strap (5-point system), it won't do a lot of good if it runs over the front edge of the seat then back under it but it will be better than nothing. I would NOT use this set-up in a true race setting, however - the sub strap(s) are critical to making the harness work correctly in a crash, even if it might be an acceptable risk for HPDE work...

mount it in line with your chest (envision yourself sitting in the seat, and draw a line from your chest, thorugh your midsection and then to the floor. Mount it there.
