Default SEPT. 14th 1st, auto x event. pointers?

whats goin on?
my tein ss's will be installed by next thursday, and i will be attending one of the last events of the season around my area. what better time than now to ry my hand at the track?
i need some pointers for the newbie.
tire pressures: should i keep them high? or should i lower them?
i assume to little preassure will cause damage, but too much will be bad once they heat up.
i dont know what to ask. im already nervousem, but i think i will do pretty well for my first time out. i understand the physics of most of it, but never really pushed it like i will be on public roads. any tips would be sweet thnx guys.

edit: just read the rules for the section. you can answer if you like or lock it up. no biggy either way.

Do some searching, and there are some excellent links in the forum FAQ for novice autocrossers. Take a bit of time to read them and let us know if you have questions.

Preregister online if possible,

Have fun,

Show up early,

Smile,

Be friendly and helpful,

Write clearly,

Tell them you are a Novice,

Have fun,

Show up to your work assignments early or on time, but for Gods sake make sure to show up,

Smile and be friendly,

Hopefully you packed som food and drink, Make sure to dispose of any garbage and please be sure not to throw any Cig butts on the ground, Especially driving surfaces (can you tell I hated picking butts out when heatgunning the tires?)

Make sure to ask questions if things aren't clear,

Smile you're gonna have fun,

Please don't speed in the paddock,

If you're gonna **** a cone be safe, don't risk it,

Have loads of fun,

Feel free to ask questions to more experienced drivers and organizers, it should be one big happy family, make sure to take an instructor if you can, and ask him/her if you could ride with them.

Above all, have fun and Welcome I remember my 1st autocross and the butterflys in my stomach. Take a breath and enjoy and hopefully you'll have a dry warm sunny day.

I hope I didn't leave too much out, oh well. You'll get the idea.

Like Grey Teg said

You are definitely going to have a blast auto-x'ing. From this season, I've pretty much dropped all of my desire to drag race and realized that other types of driving can more exhilirating and far more challenging (IMO).

Since you will run Novice, don't be shy to find another Honda/Acura owner with more experience and ask how they are running the course or possibly go for a ride with them. The auto-x crowds are always super friendly and eager to help Novices or anyone for that matter. Since this is my first season and I've been running Novice, veterans regularly come up and ask if anyone would like them to ride along for pointers. Have fun, good luck and don't be nervous!

Here's a checklist:

Have a great time!

Best suggestion I can make is to ride with an instructor and/or have them ride with you.
