Default Schedule for HYPERFEST

We had the schedule all worked out and then I got a call last Monday from Lowes saying that we couldn't get on track until noon on Saturday. They had miscalculated something and were very apolgetic. This, of course, threw a very difficult monkey wrench into the works and there were some things that we didn't have confirmation on until last Friday because of the change. Look for the schedule on the nasa websit and hyper-fest.com tommorrow.
We now have the opportunity to run into the darkness for the last few sessions on Saturday. We have brought out a boatload of portable lights to light the infield and the main oval lights will be on as well. Those that are racing are welcome to use your headlights if you have them but we have more than doubled the number that we used at the July night event and it won't be necessary.

Honda Challenge racers should plan on being prepared to run in the featured run slot at about 7:30 in the evening on Saturday. The run slot on Sunday will be earlier.

Racers and HPDErs may arrive at the track on Friday night from 5pm till 9m or gates will open at 7am on Saturday and Sunday. Techistration starts at 9:30 and the all hands meeting starts at 11:00am on Saturday. On Sunday the all-hands meeting will begin at the regular 7:45am for both racers and HPDErs. No racing cars will be allowed on track, ON SUNDAY, until 12 noon.

Sorry for the delay in schedule. Believe me we would have liked not have changed it.

Peace,
Chris

Techistration starts at 9:30 and the all hands meeting starts at 11:00am on Saturday.
Why the late start on Sat?

We hadn't planned on starting so late on Saturday but with Lowes' request, we had to make adjustments.

IF you are an HPDE student then you have to have a pre-tech form filled out on your car. This form you can find on the event page on http://www.nasaracing.net Your instructor will do your at-track inspection on Grid.
You will receive your wristband that allows YOU on track on Saturday morning from your group leader who will announced during the All Hands meeting.

Hope that helps.

Chris

Gotta LOVE Lowes!! They seem to do something like this just about every time a club uses their track. They really just don't care at all about clubs!

It would seem that way, but they really were very sorry about the mixup. They have been very good to work with and continue to be so. One has to remember that they are used to NASCAR type of events and club events really pale in comparison.

Peace,
Chris

So that we (NC/FL/VA/GA/TN) crew can finish off those 3 kegs friday night and still make the all hands meeting the next day.

Well, at least now I won't have to be doing rotor/pad changes in the motel parking lot after dark on Friday...and I might have a chance for some of those cool "glowing rotor" pictures Saturday night.

so I basically need to be there before the all hands meeting at 11:00. I don't need to worry about the techistration at 9:30....I will get teched at grid?? right?
I'll go print those forms then anything else I need to know??
Thanks for your help. I will most likely have to work on Fri, so we have to leave sat really early in the morning

EDIT: all better

I don't need to worry about the tech crap at 9:30.
The all-hands meeting is at 11:00AM - sharp - not 11:30AM.

Maybe you should be teched w/ that kind of enthusiasm.

EDIT: Spelling error(s).

Chris,
Wish I could come down to help but you guys seem to schedule things on the wrong weekends I'll be at a wedding that day for my sister inlaw and future brother inlaw whom we all despise.

Maybe when they announce "Those who do not approve this marriage speak now or forever hold your peace" the whole family will jump and and say "AYE!"

So, when you say "AYE!" ...do you say it like a pirate - example: "AYE! AYE! Captain!" - maybe that's something they do above the Mason-Dixon line.
