Default resurfacing a head ?

Are you allowed to resurface a head in STS2. In the rules it says overhauls that the silghtest way could increase performane beyond factory spec. shall not be utilized. So since the the surfacing will increase the compression(sp) a little will that be allowed in STS2? Thanks

You just answered the question yourself. If the rules say that you can't do something, then you can't do it.

Wow... Even in stock, you could do the first factory overbore... minor increase in displacement.

That sucks.

I dont see why you cant utilize all the factory tolerances given in teh service manual - just look at spec miata engines. They're "stock".

p.s. I didn't see that in the rules anywhere...

Ha! (Probably not the best analogy, but yeah, I think I agree.)

I was hoping that it would be fine. I didn't think that the little power gained from the higher compression would bump me to another class. Thanks for the help.

If you check the manual, there will be a certain factory specification for how much material can be machined from the head (or rather, how much material you need to leave on the head). If you stay within this spec when machining the head, you will be fine. If you take more off the head, you may not be.
